I saw the ad in this week's Weir's Times! It is a beautiful spot and best of luck to them as ski season approaches! If you haven't been....don't expect a view of the lake from the dining room. You overlook the indoor pool!... (not to say it isn't a nice space!)

breakfast
We saw their ad this weekend and went for Saturday breakfast. It was nothing special. The omelet has lots of options so you can customize it. The toast was actually real wheat bread which was nice.
But...although the potatoes were hot, the toast and eggs were lukewarm. Waitress was nice, prices were expensive $21 plus tip for 2 people. Decor is interesting and tasteful. We might try it again next spring when we are back to the lake, but this time for lunch.:look: |
It would be great if someone could make a go of the place.

A nice Saturday evening
After learning about new ownership at "Chez Bastille" from the web site, my wife and I dined there this past Saturday night. Although it had the typical growing pains of a new extablishment, we had a great time. It was a cool Saturday night, when we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted with a warm, New England Inn feel.
The scotch sour and house Merlot were excellent. We ordered the soup which our waitress warned us would take extra time because it was made after it was ordered. It was worth waiting for... My Filet Mignon was good.. not the best but very enjoyable. My wife's stuffed shrimp special was great. We had the bananas Foster for dessert which was out of this world. There were several diners who had cold food but the excellent waitresses handled the situations very well and everyone seemed satisfied. Our food was perfectly done. We will return during the winter. We truly enjoyed the warmth of both the fireplace and the employees. |
Chez Bastille
Hi all,
We decided to try Chez Bastille for dinner tonight. The food was terrific and the service was fast & friendly. I tried the duck strudel; it was very well prepared. For the main meal we tried the varies beef dishes (they had a filet mignon with apple and a rib eye with a mushroom demi glace). Everything was very good. My daughter ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert and it had hand whipped heavy whip cream...out of this world. The waitress told us that they vary the menu monthly, so that should provide some variety. We will be back... Give them a try, the food was worth the trip. Jetskier:cool: |
