19 mile bay store
A friend told me that the 19-mile Bay store has changed hands.
|
I heard that it was in the process too. I wonder if it's true it was bought by those who own many restaurants in Wolfeboro and area???
|
He apparently missed the classes on building a recession-proof line of businesses. Owning a half-dozen string of food service establishments in a small area is a huge roll of the dice.

I think previous Pier 19 Store Owner was asking over $3,000,000.
I can't see anyone paying that however maybe she decided to just sell the business and retain the Real Estate. Not sure. Maybe someone has some further information about this transaction. |

For sale sign is gone- and there are non familiar faces (yet very friendly) in the store. I did hear that it sold, and have not seen Manaze (sp?) there my last couple of visits. If she got even remotely close to asking price- well done...
|
It has been sold - it changed owners last week. The new owners plan to continue as is. Manaz(sp?) has been helping with the transistion.

I did a little digging and found out the following:
The person who previously owned the store is named Mahnaz Mahidashti She listed the property on 5/15/2025 for $3,500,000. She reduced the price to $2,900,000 on 10/02/2025. She sold the property on 12/17/2025 for $2,300,000. I don't have the name of the buyer but I do feel that Mahnaz had quite enough and is delighted to have found a willing buyer. Hopefully the new buyer will once again offer Bottled Gas. Mahnaz didn't make bottled gas available (she never carried it). It will be interesting to see if the new owner will keep the store open during the winter months........ |

Pretty sure the guy in Wolfeboro is Peter Ford- could be wrong on the first name. Very good chance it's not him. I do hope that the new owners will keep it open during the cold months- I'm happy to pay $5.00 for a small bottle of ketchup if I don't have to drive all the way to Wolfeboro to get one.

Pier 19 saga continues.... Hopefully the New Owners don't ruffle as many feathers, and can improve relations with the Yacht Club, so that once again the store can utilize the unused docking....
(Yes Yes, I know there is a gate, but its all programing and wouldn't be hard to allow the gate to be open access during the stores business hours....) Unfortunately The location of the store is just not ideal for year around operations..... |
Are the people that bought it Indian?

I'd be surprised if he is Indian. His name is Peter Ford. I wonder if he's related to Henry Ford? |

Not that it should matter. |

Does any one know what the plan is? Continue to run it as a store, make it into a restaurant? Other intended uses? It seems something needs to change to to make this a successful business.

To be honest, I am surprised a gasoline storage tank is allowed where it is located (so close to the lake). Maybe it is somehow grandfathered? |
Someone posted this morning (on the ice out thread) that Pier 19 is currently charging $6.79 per gallon for their boat gas.
Pier 19 has a new owner now. Has anyone noticed any noticeable changes under the new ownership? |

Significant Changes
The only significant change I’ve seen so far (very limited interaction) is the new owners are much more pleasant than the previous owner and will be better members to the P19 condo association!
