70 North
So has anyone been to 70 North yet?? I am going to give their Sunday Brunch a try tomorrow…
Had a fantastic Sunday Brunch last week at The Lakehouse Grill at Church Landing! Absolutely fantastic!! Hoping 70 North will be at least comparable…. Dan |
I agree on the Lakehouse Sunday Brunch. We have gone many times especially when friends and family are visiting. Please post about your experience at 70 North.

So we went to 70 North this morning in the Weirs for their brunch. We had no idea what to expect as no one that I know in the area has ever been.
The food was very good and so was the attentive service! My Wife had their homemade quiche and she said it was fantastic! I had “croquet madame” which is basically eggs and ham on top of a split homemade croissant with some kind of white gravy and it also was excellent. Considering they are only open Thursday - Saturday from 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM not sure how they are showing a profit with such limited hours. I wish them well and I will definitely return to try their dinner service sometime! Pics below…. Dan |
Thanks for the rep[ort. I hope restaurants will have better luck hiring staff this year than in the past. You're right-- It appears they need more open hours.

Great Dinner
We've been for dinner twice and both times was very good. I do hope they also open for lunch at least during the Summer with some creative sandwiches and other dishes. They have the Market, which I haven't been to (only seasonal).

Are we talking about the Gandy Dancer at Ho Jos? Has to be better food than back then.

Just saw a post saying Alamo Texas barbeque is taking over 70 North.

The menu looks pretty good. I didn't realize they were affiliated with the Dox.
|
Part of the Dox group. Never been but like all their other restaurants.
Are the taking over or renting some of the space at 70 north? |

Alamo = best chicken and waffle appetizer ever, but BBQ = hit-or-miss.

BBQ you say?
Fifteen minutes from my house? I'M IN!!! |
The Alamo in today's LDS...

Though I've had mixed experiences at Alamo, they're really the first outfit going in that space that I think could work long-term. The Brookline location is consistently busy year-round and attracts a wide range of clientele.

As one who often frequents BBQ joints... I can say that your use of the word "wide" carries a little extra weight. ;)

Faro...
Faro was there briefly after The Lobster Pound and I remember some very entertaining exchanges on The Forum from Nadia (Nadia's Trattoria & now Myrna's) and Ray Hall, owner, giving us a lesson on kissing ass.
The owners reminded me of The Blues Brothers. Black suits, dark sun glasses and black fedoras. |

One of the "Forum girls" thought it was one of the more disgusting descriptive anatomy visuals she had encountered. |
Actually I have been to 90 North. However all the food there was freeze dried.
