Winterizing a I/O engine

I have a 1987 Celebrity with a Mecruiser 260hp V8 I/O.

I have a large garage and want to store the boat myself.

Can anyone point me to a resource for what needs to be done to winterize my engine.

I am very comfortable with auto work - just never owned a boat. Am i carazy in assuming this is pretty straight forward, or should I be paying someone to do this.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Tim
