Hanging Winter doors and shutters

I am looking to improve how the winter doors and winter shutters are hung and secured to my cabin. The doors and shutters are made of beadboard. The windows are about 55 inches tall and 36 inches wide. The shutters are hung, somewhat precariously, on little clips at the tops of the window frames, and secured with 2 hook and screw eyes at the base. Placing these shutters on the little clips is a challenge while standing on a ladder especially in this past weekend's winds.

I would appreciate hearing about other, more user friendly designs.
thanks so much for sharing

Not sure exactly how "Thick" your beadboard is but we use these fasteners for our storm windows on our screened porch to winterize/ 3 Season.

They come in various sizes (aka wood/glass thickness) and with the appropriate size screw secure into the house ------ the beauty of these are we leave them up all year, simply place the (in our case) glass frame on them -- which also helps locate and hold them in place--- simply twist & lock in place
