The Texas BBQ Guy

Just saw that the Texas BBQ guy https://www.facebook.com/TravelingTexasSmokeShop
who is usually on Route 104 in Meredith is now on Union Avenue in Laconia right across from the Irving. I have never had his BBQ but I hear good things about it.

It is great. We love the ribs and the chicken as well.

Best BBQ in the area! He will cater!

Drove by yesterday. Thought the building was on fire at first

He does a great BBQ. One weekend last year he had a pig roast. The pork was so tender that you could cut it with a plastic fork. I presumed when he closed his Rt 104 location in the fall he returned to Texas for the winter. His pickup truck has Texas plates.

thank you for the update, great news! Like you, we've heard good things about the food (both on the Forum as well as others), and always meant to stop by and load up, but missed him this year on Route-104. Now we have another opportunity in Laconia :)

thanks again Airdale (and love your tagline too) -PIG

Stopped in on Monday.

Saw the smoke and stopped in on Monday to get some pulled pork with a side of barbecue beans. The pork was great, and there was a LOT of it, but be forewarned: they serve it on the dry side, with no barbecue sauce added. However, this is not a problem as they give you plenty of sauce on the side, and once added it makes for an excellent sandwich. The barbecue beans were good too, especially after I added the jalapeņo pepper rings available as a condiment.

Planning to go back often, and I think they'll do well in Laconia. Haven't had any good BBQ options there since Panama Bill (remember him?). :liplick:

I went for some BBQ with wifey and my son on Friday. It was great!

We are very pleased to have them closer to our home now.

A buddy and I stopped in on the way to 405 for a beer. We got a couple of pulled pork sandwiches and ate them in the car in the 405 parking lot. Absolutely delicious and by far the best meal we've ever had at the 4:05.

I stopped in and enjoyed a couple pulled pork sandwiches. They were excellent!! This should be a much better location for Chris. Not trying to derail the thread but, it's cash only😃

I can't help myself. What is incorrect?

I'm guessing he did have pulled pork sandwiches and they were excellent, so are you disagreeing that it can be a better place for him, or that the place is cash only... help us out here please.

Is this the permanent location or will he go back to 104 in the summer?

Stopped in today... Parking can be a bit tricky if you're not familiar with the area, if you're coming from the north, you need to turn into the parking lot on a driveway that is just before the building. The best path is really to approach the building from the rear... Where Union ave splits right by the gas station, stay straight/to the right on whatever street that is, then pull into the first lot on the left, which will be the back of the building.

I had a BBQ sandwich and beans. Overall VERY good, though I felt the meat portion on the sandwich could have been a bit larger for a better meat:bun ratio, but still a solid value.

Picture of the menu in case anyone is interested:

Hopefully I can be forgiven...
