Chinese Food
Looking for options/opinions on Chinese food in the Belmont/Laconia/Loudon area. Everything I read seems to be dated back to 2009 and a bunch of those are no longer in business. Any recommendations?

Sort of like real bread in NH or pizza. Although that is getting better and there are even a few places that sell real bagels. As to Deli - nothing around the lakes offers NY deli. And with the exception of George's in Meredith, forget about trying for a sandwich or bowl of soup after 2 pm. |
I like the Green Ginger in Tilton.

The only time we were not 100% was new years eve..... Place was SLAMMED! China Bistro in Laconia is also decent. Same each time as well. All taste specific, both of these have a brown oyster sauce with their chicken dishes. |
China Garden in Belmont.......clean kitchen, quality ingredients and the best Chinese chef in the area.
|
I agree on Green Ginger in Tilton
|
Green Ginger. All the food is very fresh.
|
I usually get the spicy kung poa, some pork fried rice and some boneless spear ribs from Green Ginger!
After them for me it would be China Garden next to Shooters. But that's rare since I prefer GG |
China Garden and Phu Jee's
Our favorite is Phu Jee's. However, for Laconia/Belmont area, we recommend China Garden.

Try Taipei Osaka
At the Walmart Mall in Gilford. Not the best but better than those mentioned in this thread.
For Thai food, try Lanna Thai next to the Laconia High School. |
Tried the one next to the Walmart in Gilford. Thought the staff was indifferent and the food tasted like you got it in a food court at the mall.
Prefer the Green Ginger in Tilton... but there is no endless tea at the table.Love the hot tea with Chinese food. |
Chinese Food
If you ever had good Chinese food at a restaurant anywhere in any larger city, you will be very disappointed in the few you will find around the lake. Just adding a lot of soy sauce in meat and the side of rice do not make it a Chinese. However, when it comes to Mexican food, the restaurants in Moultonborough and Wolfeboro are the first class and one of the best Mexican food, anywhere. My two cents.

Some exceptions, but with a small population base and seasonal tourist trade an emphasis on "traditional offerings" is to be expected. You want cutting edge food? Go to a big city. |

Many truly superb restaurants, conveniently located close together, can be found on the Las Vegas strip.
We always eat well in Sin City. |
Not much in the immediate area. Wu Liang Ye is the closest and the best. Especially if you like spicy. http://wuliangyenyc.com/

Thanks... heading there soon
We have two seasons, Lake season and Hockey season. BU vs. Cornell will be an exciting game. Hence the need for food in that area.
Thanks for the suggestions 5 months till ice-out. IG |
but only two months until ice out contest starts . That to me is first sign of spring

I like Fugaky on Tenney Mtn Hwy in Plymouth.
The food has always been consistent and fresh & the price is right; especially the lunch buffet. |
Lemon Grass - across the street from Center Harbor Diner
Lemon Grass is an amazing Asian Restaraunt with great sushi and fusion dishes.... it is a hidden jewel.
Yelp review here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/lemon-grass-..._source=ishare Lemon Grass 64 Whittier Hwy Moultonborough, NH 03254 (603) 253-8100 |
Lemon Grass is fantastic. The menu is nothing like you would find in a typical Chinese restaurant but have never had a bad experience there other than it gets pretty busy
|
Chinese?
Another vote for Phu Gee, in Meredith.
