Can It Be True?

A friend tells me there is a new eating establishment in Gilford (across from Sawyer's.) - A Fried Dough Stand! Who doesn't like a piece of fried dough once in a while? Never see it except at fairs in the fall. Anyone stopped by or know the hours it is open? Good luck on the new venture.

So now you will find me standing in the middle on Rt 11, slightly dazed, saying "ice cream, fried dough, ice cream, fried dough..."

You are overthinking this...

There is indeed a fried dough trailer parked there. I think it's called Dylan's. However, I don't think that's where they will operate. It's right at the intersection, you couldn't park.

It's too bad there aren't any open lots around the Weirs where they could park it and open up for business.

I once attended a fair down south. They had balls of fried dough that had been stuffed with a scoop of ice cream.

One of the happier moments in my life!!!

Is a different story, Vendor license are expensive and need to be renewed every so many days. That is why you don't see carts at the Weirs. This came about for Bike Week. Money grabbers!

Cider Bellies Doughnuts to Open At Sawyers In May!

I think that some of the talk or chatter could be about a new "Cider Bellies Doughnuts" location that is going to open at Sawyers Dairy Bars in Mid May! If you like fresh doughnuts then this will be the place to be! Enjoy! I do see that trailer for fried dough sitting across the street from Patrick's Pub but I believe it just is a space to park it for now!

Any word on this opening. I've been up here the last two days and haven't seen anything at Sawyers. Was really looking forward to some nice donuts this weekend.

that everyone speaks of and I live right by Sawyers. What am I missing?

And I'm pretty sure that Patrick's isn't going to open a restaurant that competes with itself. Though I think he's doing a great job rehabbing that property.

Now I am dreaming of fried dough. (✿ˆ◡ˆ✿)

Cider Bellies Doughnuts has been at Moulton's Farm Stand since 2011 and Sawyer's is a new location. They have an active Facebook page for current information.

Cider Bellies is planning to open next Saturday May 31st!

I looked at their Facebook but see nothing about Sawyer's. And don't see any trailer there. I guess I'll just wait and see in a couple weeks when I come back.

Overlake97 05-27-2014 05:03 AM

Sawyers is mentioned on Facebook page

Scroll down the page. On April 14th you'll find an announcement about taking applications for the Sawyers Dairy Bar location. (See image below)

Just spoke with the owner and was told that they are doing the finishing touches on the trailer to make sure they have a clean and solid opening so it looks like they will be ready to go soon but not this weekend as they had hoped. So next week will be the start of fresh hot Cider Bellies Doughnuts!:liplick:

Is there anything they can't do?

Fried dough? I think that's what we call 'Elephant Ears' here on the west coast. Can't wait to try your version... :)
