Miracle Sail Boat Story in NJ
Just thought I would share an amazing boat story from the NJ coast. For all you sailors out there.
This boat didn't move from cradle to the grave in the storm, but somewhere else. Check out the pictures here. https://plus.google.com/photos/10343...21466240534386 |
Nice Placement
That was great, Now they either need another high higher tide, or a crane. Mother Nature likes that boat and is why it was treated with kid gloves.

HA. I looked at the first pic and thought....what's the big deal, the boat is on a cradle!. Then I looked at the cradle.
Pretty neat. :) |
The reason I found this story is because the guy posted the pictures on my sailboat forum. (Catalina-25) He is an electrician and told the story of how he thought his boat would be safe from the storm on the cradle and how the marina called him after the storm and told him his boat was okay, but had an "interesting" new location. The crane put it back in the cradle after the shots were taken.

God, She must like Catalina's..:D
great pics. |
I am not buying into this one... Too perfect of a placement,

Nobody who cares for their boat would put it on top of four dock posts.

I wonder how many times the crane had to postion the boat on the pilings before it became perfectly balanced. My guess is at least a dozen times.

and, what does any of this have to do with the Lakes Region?

It seems as though someone who isn't as popular will be torn apart for not following the rules while more popular posters are allowed to slide. Point in hand, Chef Brown was allowed to advertise his business recently while just this past year more then one business was beaten down and dragged through the mud for doing the exact same thing. If my memory is correct it was a local marina. I believe what Merrymeeting is getting at is why can one poster put up something that another poster will be criticized for? Chef Brown not disrespect to you either I see no problem with you posting about your business, but if one can do it then everyone should be allowed to do the same. |

"Lighten up, Frances!"
This is the boating section of the forum and it's a normally slow time of year. Something as interesting as this, is to good to not share with friends. |
I guess I'm not the only one who gets grumpy once the boat is put away.
I for one, think minor off-topic threads are fun. The webmaster has his own tolerance for this, and when enough is enough, look at the Romney thread for an example. |
Sailboat
