The Mount under the full moon.. 9-30-12

After the rain.. I went out tonight to snap a few Full Moon shots thru the clouds. The moon was playing peek a boo with the clouds and showed itself just as the Mount was coming up the lake.

These were taken from Big Pier at Lake Shore Park. Zoomed out to the max on my 300mm lens so they aren't as clear as I would have liked. I was changing setting as fast as I could to get a nice clear shot.. but the Mount wasn't willing to slow down until I could figure out the exact right ones. :rolleye2:

Even if you call the pictures not focused right, they sure look good to me. I never saw the moon outside and I was out several times up here on the mountain. Thanks for posting.:)

Mount under the full moon

Wow, Steve, what beautiful pictures. Hope to ride the Mount later in October. How is foliage up there?

Low and wet areas are close to 100% with some actually looking past peak.

I like this site to keep track on the progress of the "Falliage" ;)

Not sure if it was the frost earlier or the lack of rain all summer but our observations are the swamps look great but a lot of the tree's in our area both maple and oak are dropping off the tree's dead and without color.
There are some oak changing but before they achieve color they turn brown on the edges and fall off.
We are heading up to Northern Maine this weekend for whitewater rafting and hope to see better color up there.

It seems to me that foliage season is way ahead this year. Maybe I just don't remember….

Nice picture! I’m not usually a pessimistic, person but the mount looks like the Titanic in that pic.:)

Welcome to the forum! Please send me a Private Message with your e-mail. I'd be happy to send you the original full sized files so you could easily have a nice picture printed up for your daughter and her new husband.
