Ice conditions
I'm hoping to walk from Glendale to Welch Island tomorrow. Anybody know about the conditions? Is it safe?

If its anything like today you may want to reconsider. The wind is a huge factor. You may end up blowing backwards faster that you can walk.

This Winter's...

Been a tough'n! That's 'fur sure! And after this February thaw, early indicators are saying we may be able to ride into and through March! Let's hope so... Ya, we all can understand the fair weather folk's what want to get back out there on their boats, and for Y'All, we have boats and enjoy them too! However, those of us that spend big money, and enjoy all four seasons that the Lakes Region of New Hampshire has to offer, we want to get every last lick in too. :liplick: :liplick: :liplick: :liplick: !!!! And in other words, we didn't move up here to sit around and get fat, waiting for Summer. Ten-4???? trfour Terry __________________________________________________ _ |
Ice conditions
You definitely need ice creepers. Plenty of glare ice polished by the wind with patches of crusty ice/snow. We walked out from Cattle Landing today and it was nice to have the wind at our back. Glendale to Welch will require face cover for sure with wind more in you face. Expected to be windy tomorrow too and colder.

We walked out on friday and ran into some 8" slush but ice was safe. Almost 50 degrees!
