Our youngest (14) and all his friends have been to the maze several times. They love it! It's wonderful that these folks are providing inexpensive, WHOLESOME entertainment that appeals to such a wide age range! I wish there were more things like this for our young teenagers to do! Two Huge Thumbs Up for Beans and Greens! :D

That is the coolest picture ! Ok, now you've made me want to go do this, and I have to just to see what it's like. I imagine it will be there for the month of October, cuz I'm traveling until the end of this month. So, if there is a period of time in early October that you see no posts from Outlaw -- take another fly by on the corn maze and I'll wave to you.

Indian Names
 

Winnipesaukee is an Indian word as are many other area names.
We all have heard that the Indian word for CORN is MAZE.
Could this kind of MAZE in the CORN actually be the reason for the Indians calling it MAZE?

Thank you Waterbaby for the nice comments and your spelling correction. It is true that you spell the indian word for corn M A I Z E but it sounds the same as the word maze. I do not think Native Americans used English letters and words. So it was US that gave the letters MAIZE to the Indian word for "corn". But was it really a different Indian word or just us foreigners who made two different words maize and maze? Do you know? Look at the various ways people have spelled the Indian word Winnipesaukee.

The European way of spelling started with the Columbus mistake. With Columbus Day just around the corner I have to wonder. How could Columbus discover this land when it was ALREADY HERE and occupied before he got here? Why do we celebrate his mistake - he was headed to India and never made it (but thought he did). Columbus discovered America. C'mon now, is that what really happened?

Never understood that one Joe.There were people here 10,000 years before him.Maybe he should get credit for being the first white man to discover (accidently) the new world.It is by far the dumbest holiday there is and probably why most people don't celebrate it.Veterans day,memorial day,fourth of July,now those are holidays worth celebrating! "This corn maze, at the Beans and Greens Farmstand on Gunstock Hill Road in Gilford, is open through Halloween. It was designed by 16-year-old Alex Howe, a member of the family that owns the farm. The maze costs $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger."

What a great and fun idea. Thanks for letting us know of it.

I think it would be a good idea to call Beans & Greens first to see if the corn maze is open. We drove by there last week and the corn field had a lot of standing water. With today's additional rain, I would guess the maze might no longer be available, so anyone interested should call first to see: (603) 293-2853
