what would be the perfect adventure. I've been from Maine to California and back to New Hampshire in lived in a lot of different states. Life has been one big adventure for me. How about anyone else.

Drive to Alaska and spend two months there exploring, we did that in '02

With a forum handle like "Crash" do you really need an adventure? :D

I've also driven from ME to CA several times, lived all over the USA like a gypsy, but I'm proud to put down roots here in NH. I love raising my family here, I love my little town, and I love this forum - lots of good folks here.

Perfect Adventure
 

Buying a cabin on an island in the middle of a lake that's a real fixer-upper and having little practical experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. That, my friend, is a real adventure!

How About 3 Kids, 2 Dogs, and 1 Cat...
 

...did I mention that the two oldest are 15 and 17 year old teenage girls!!!

And pretty ones at that!

I keep a axe handle next to the front door just in case.

It's an adventure everyday!!

One of my big planned adventures is going to have to wait until my cardiologist says it is ok...

I wanted to take my Road Glide down the Trans Canada Highway. Over 7,000 miles of awesome scenery. I have done the California to New Jersey ride, To Sturgis, Daytona, Sedona, a few times. But never the Trans Canada.

Someday before I die I hope....

Try shopping at Target in Nashua at store opening on Black Friday. Not for the feint of heart..did it once, will never attempt it again regardless of the loss leaders! :laugh::laugh:

We got back a month ago after spending a month in Newfoundland. It is an awe inspiring place. We also took the ferry to Labrador. St. Johns and Gros Morne are beautiful. It would be a great place to take the bikes.

Oh yes it is. I was lucky enough to do that a few years back. But now the Cat does not run anymore out of Portland. Or anywhere for that matter. so it is quiet the ride to get a ferry out to NS anymore. My wife's family lives in Bangor So the first time we went we trailered up there and rode down to the Ferry. The Acadia National Park is also a great long weekend ride, as is the ride up to Montreal.

But Does anyone remember Spags in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Holy Cow that was fight for your life ordeal shopping in there. I always thought, what if this place caught fire....Pandamonium...Panic in the isles, people running over your toes with baby strollers, people pushing you to get the last pair of socks in the dollar box, and that was without the fire....Now THAT was an adventure...:eek::laugh:

It was an adventure understanding the old guy in the commercial."Come to Spaaaggss":laugh:.

We used to make the pilgrimage to Spags once or twice a year. What a great place.

We did the Cape Breton highlands (Ingonish, Baddeck) during Stage One of our honeymoon back in '88. The second half was (shocker) a week @ Winnipesaukee and some backpacking in the White Mountains.

Guess we could've done Club Med or Sandals. Old habits are hard to break.

Yes, another wonderful area in our world... Our Mom was born in Saint Ann's, North River, Cape Breton Island NS. I bought 100 acres on Rooster Hill on the Cabot Trail back in the seventies that is still in the family.

Mom spent about 3 months with me here on Paugus bay one summer, and I took her around Lake Winnipesaukee to all of the craft fairs, Alton was her favorite! We would sit on the overlooks and she told me about how much this Great Lake reminded her of Cape Breton! She Loved it here too!

I love the Forum...brings up things you have not thought of in years! I went once to Spags with a friend; you're right; it was organized chaos. It makes me also remember the old--original--Filene's basement...in Boston! My apologies to the Lakes Region focus of the Forum...but the original Filene's...in a class by itself. People undressing and trying on stuff right in the aisles...nobody sweating that at all! Grabbing stuff from other people. Only the "oldies" here will remember it, I imagine. It certainly was an adventure in its day!!

Thanks for that AW. Funny how I remember him being way older and speaking very weird. I guess I am him now.:laugh:

Our cruise to Alaska was pretty spectacular. The one to Norway and Scotland wasn't bad either. Taking the train from Vancouver to Lake Louise and then on to Calgary was great, especially the drive into the mountains and to see the glaciers near Lake Louise, but the most adventurous trip was driving from Bern, Switzerland, to Venice to Saltzburg, Austria and back to Bern through the Alps without a GPS.

Now THAT was an adventure. The roads through the Alps are one-way in some areas. You have to wait at a light for it to change. Sometimes you wait for 30 minutes. The views were unbelievable as was the 18-mile tunnel under the Italian Alps. Really, this was the winner!

i got bored one morning i walked from wolfeboro to wells beach, it took me a day and a half. when i got there i called for a ride home. ill never do that again.
it was a nice walk but i was younger back then. and its odd that you never really know what people throw on the side of the road untill your walking on it.
