I just saw Rosie O'Donnell in Wolfeboro.
Walkin' down the sidewalk by the old Halls, with her son.
|
Time to pack up and leave.
|
Interesting....
Thanks for the warning - I will stay on this side of the lake
|
I guess thats a benefit of the boat being broken.
|
I bet it was a good day for The Yum-Yum shop!
|
Run Forrest, Run!
|
whoa
Looks like Miss Rosie don't have too many fans............

So glad I'm in Meredith
|
Well she only had 1 kid with her. Possible Brewster connection?
|
I love Rosie! Might go to Wolfeboro today just to check it out, thanks!!
|
No Thanks!
I would rather run a marathon with a tack in my shoe than to set eyes on her!

From the sentiment of the responses your probably wishing you had never mentioned this sighting. |

Does she have a new wife?.......Seem to remember reading that she divorced "Kelly" for a fresh babe.
|
A Rosie O'Donuts sighting at the lake could only negatively affect tourism. One word.
YUK! |
Any sighting of her "babe?":D
|
KonaChick....you've GOT to tell me
KonaChick;
What could you POSSIBLY like about Rosie O'Donnell!?!?! |
I was just reading "Where is everybody?" If I were to come to this lake and read a thread like this, I would wonder about the nice folks here at our wonderful lake. This is not the way we want to present ourselves is it??? There really are many many nice warm welcoming people on this Forum. Let's start again and erase this thread. It is inappropriate to talk like this about someone.

I like her too, Kona
I like her, too. She's very dedicated to children's rights and causes, and a huge advocate for Autism awareness. Her son attends a camp in the area, and she was visiting for Parent's Weekend.

What's the big deal with celebrity sightings. I mean they're just people. Why do people flock to see someone? What do you say to this person once you get there?
I mean there are famous people I would like to meet and spend time with in a conversation. But there isn't anyone, I want to just look at for ten seconds or shake their hand or get an autograph. |
My wife gets "star struck" everytime she recognizes anyone famous. It is fun to watch her excitement.
Rosie is a headline maker and a celeberity. There are 310 million people in our country and she has made / marketed herself to an extreme level. She is only ONE person our of those 301 million that everyone instantly knows not only her by sight but also by viewpoint and social modifications. Give her credit for her accomplishment on raising to that level. The viewpoints stated here are seem to be representative of the silent majority that are repulsed by what she represents. |

Real Celebrities
Here's a few of my "celebrities" that should get more air time in my opinion...
Marc Arizmendez Michael Pridham Andrew Creighton Recognize any of them??... Let me be a little more specific... Staff Sargeant Marc Arizmendez, Killed July 6th by I.E.D. attack in Zabul. Private First Class Michael Pridham, Killed on July 6th by I.E.D. attack in Zabul. Sargeant Andrew Creighton, Killed on July 4th by hostile fire in Oruzgan. To hell with Rosie! These are real celebrities and heroes who I would have loved to meet in person. It's just unfortunate that we know more about "Rosie" than we do about Sargeant Andrew Creighton who was killed on the 4th of July!... Dan |
Some may not agree with her politics but Rosie made it to the top from very humble beginnings. She is a good actress/comic. Most importantly, she has given away millions of dollars, including several million to Katrina victims. She has adopted kids who might not otherwise have a good home. Some of the comments on this thread seem rather petty, out of line, mean spirited, and rude. I hope she doesn't read them. There is always a lot of talk on the forum of how we need to make people who spend money in the lake's region feel welcome. Guess that just depends on what topic we are discussing.

I would not question Rosie O’Donnell’s tireless charitable contributions; she has changed the lives of many people and should be commended for her efforts.
The problem most people have with O’Donnell is she is a hypocrite. She puts herself out there as the spokesperson for tolerance. Tolerance is a double sided sword. She wants acceptance for her views yet she qualifies all that oppose her as Knuckle Dragging Neanderthals. She has zero tolerance for anyone or anything that contradicts her beliefs. People tend to take it personally when their values and religion are questioned. P.S. I hope she does read this. |
Why I would never care to be famous
Whether Rosie reads this or not. None of what is said or excuse me written here is of any surprise here. She at this point has heard it all. Now don't take me wrong I am not defending her, or agreeing with anything she has done, is planing to do, or will do in the future. The simple fact is she is famous, so of course she is sighted in the little town of Wolfeboro and the people need to gossip. If you want to promote the area in a positive light... As some posts here have indicated DONT GOSSIP!!! that is the bottom line.
Famous people have to accept that they are famous and are going to be criticized all the time. But is it fair, do you want every move you make analyzed. Do you want to be able to change your mind and not have people tell you that you are hypocrite.... no of course not, and when we make hypocritical statements most of us realize it and swallow our pride. You know what most famous people want... they want to be able to go on vacation be left alone and not have to hear the gossip that they face all day long everytime they turn the corner. So they leave New York, Los Angeles or where ever and try to escape... If you want to paint the Lakes Region in a Positive light DONT GOSSIP!!!!!! |
Someone just called me. Well about an hour or so ago. Seems she has a radio show on Sirius radio that just started this week. She was talking trash about Wolfeboro and wolfeboro businesses. mentioned a few by name, but I won't go there. He called to tell me that she went to several places in town to find a room and couldn't stand any of them. She basically called Wolfeboro a pit and all the places she tried to get a room at were horrible and backwards in time. She should have just slept in her car.
I'll have to check her website tomorrow as she has a show recap blog apparently on there. See if she writes anything. I'll post it later if there is. Sorrrrrrrrrrrrrry, there wasn't any lavish Las Vegas Hilton's up here for you Rosie...:rolleye2: |

Was she ripping steeples off of churchs and stomping on cars?

Rosie is my hero...
She's only person with enough balls to tell Donald Trump off. When she and "The Donald" were having they’re jousting match I was "RONTFLMAF"... That was the best 15 minutes of fame I've ever seen, her one liners nailed him good. Although, “The Donald” had some pretty good comebacks that fit her to a tee as well.

Same Take
I think if Rosie ever read the posts on this forum, she would come on here with a Vengeance and a MOUTH that would be UN-Printable. SHE is No Lady... and everyone knows it.......well.......... maybe not everyone. :look:
OMG, POOR Rosie..she gets No Privacy on vacation... and No Respect from forum members.   NB |

Think Big Picture
One posting notes:
"I was just reading "Where is everybody?" If I were to come to this lake and read a thread like this, I would wonder about the nice folks here at our wonderful lake. This is not the way we want to present ourselves is it??? There really are many many nice warm welcoming people on this Forum. Let's start again and erase this thread. It is inappropriate to talk like this about someone." While I personally find abrasive media personalities problematic, I believe that the author, Lucky1, has the right perspective. Before saying-writing anything I ask myself, Would my words be true? Fair? Necessary? Frankly, many of the posting in this thread fail those tests. The collective silence of Forum members speak volumes. "Where is everybody?" Based in part on this Forum, I spend most of my tourist-retirement dollars outside of the lakes region. |
whoa, again........

Were your words true? No. This thread is lively, but no one is attacking anyone. We are expressing strong opinions about a lively and controversial topic. Strike 1.Were your words fair? Again, no. You have lumped all the forum members into one big "nasty" group. Not exactly fair, do you think? Strike 2.Were your words necessary? I think not. Express an opinion about the topic -- or perhaps about a single forum member that you disagree with. But it isn't necessary to condemn a whole group based upon your opinion. Strike 3.Nothing personnal - just doing a little logical analysis, here. |

Rosie said that she and Chelsea had reservations to stay at a Bed and Breakfast in New Hampshire when they went to visit Parker. She is generally not a fan of Bed and Breakfasts and when they checked out the room where they were going to stay it was full of "antiques" and it was way too hot. They had a hard time finding a place to stay in the little town. Rosie and Chelsea ate at the restaurant in the hotel in town and she said the people there were so nice to them. She decided to turn on the questions on her blog while she as there because they sometimes use the topics people write in to her about for show ideas. When she checked the questions later, a mean blogger named Tom wrote to her and told her how he was at the restaurant at the hotel and he could barely finish his meal because of how fake and horrible she was. Rosie doesn't understand why people choose to be so mean just for the sake of being mean. She also said that everyone in that town was so nice to her and that most people generally are and she doesn't understand why she lets the horrible things a few people say bother her so much. |
It was a nice day out today... tomorrow is supposed to be a good one too... Why not go out and enjoy the short summer we have? This is going to be one of those cases of you either love this person or you hate her - it's not worth it... :)
Peace y'all. |
So, this is bashing?

I'm sure glad that has all been straightened out; I stand by my original positive Rosie comments. SOTD

I was just fooling with you...
Actually, I can't stand either one of them... However, I did find that jousting match between them amusing.
What do you suppose Rosie is doing right about now??? Suppose she’s sipping fine wine, snacking on some aged cheddar cheese on cross crackers from the Moultobourgh Country store - rocking on her veranda overlooking the lake? Thinking, "If only"... You know, Mr. Boso... That sounds pretty good... Maybe I'll head out to the veranda and join her... vicariously of course. How about you, care to join us? |
