For those of you who will be in the area this weekend, the Village Players theatre at 15 Glendon Street in Wolfeboro is screening the holiday classic, "It's a Wonderful Life."

Sure you've seen it on TV every year, but have you ever seen it on a 20 ft. screen with cinematic sound? Come on over to Wolfeboro to shop, grab a bite and catch a great movie. Tickets $5 at the door.

Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Just as an interesting bit of trivia, the original score when released in 1946 was met with critical reviews and from a box office perspective did poorly. In fact it was considered at the time a dud likely to drift off into obscurity.

Bet the original producers never would have guessed a re-release two decades later in the 70's would turn it into probably one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time.

Jimmy Stewart

Just read a very interesting book, "Hank and Jim," by Scott Eyman. Both were heroes in WWII, but Jimmy Stewart's contributions were exceptional. A very, very brave man, who had every reason not to participate, but did anyway, with valor.
