Drought / too early end to the season

Was tempted to boat this weekend, but as a seasoned recipient of underwater elements, both at Graveyard and around Cow I decided to end the season today with hull and drive intact in my driveway.

There was a summer, it was late in August (1996)? while my uncle's property in West Alton was still available to vacation at, my Mastercraft ski boat would only fit half-way into the boat house. The bow interior of the boathouse was essentially beach! In all my years at Winni I don't think I had ever seen the lake that low.

At my age I relish all of the assets I have been able to retain. The Donzi, intact is one of them so I'm all done for the season, and I am wicked jealous of those of you full time Winni mariners who are still venturing out for a cruise.
Be safe.

You need to get another boat, an island style, utility boat. Something like a 14 or 16' aluminum vee hull/side steering wheel with a 25 or 40hp outboard. Weighs 500-800lbs, draws just 6" or so of water depth, and works great as an ice breaker with its aluminum hull and keel, easily slicing through the surprise thin 1" or less, ice formed overnight.

And, you will be good to go from ice-out to January 5!

Is a wee bit small for the broads on a big wave day, sort of like a surf board, out there.

the C-Dory only drafts a foot of water...good thing, 'cause I have a few months to go until we close up.

Weeeeeeeeee!

Lot of boat traffic in our area today. Many folks enjoying the great weather and calm lake. Mountain tops are showing color now. Enjoy!!! 🐻

Gorgeous day out there, for sure, but was it regular haze or smoke from the western fires obscuring the view?

Some hope this week!

It should get better. WMUR is predicting a pretty rainy week with as much as 4 inches of rain. That should help the cause.

Saturday when we went out we noticed the haze and thought it might be from the fires.
