Island Plumber Required

We are in need of a plumber to come out to Rattlesnake and fix our water pump. Pump runs fine but won’t turn off. No leaks, holds it’s pressure, no air, no idea. Bad pressure switch?

Anybody have recommendation for a plumber who can come out (must have own transportation)?

I have an above-ground well water pump. There is a small, flexible plastic tube running to the pressure switch from another part of the pump- runs horizontally to the switch. The tube (not sure of the inside diameter-maybe 1/8 inch) is less than 6 inches long. Available at any hardware store.

Easy (homeowner) fix, if this is the problem.

Hope this helps.

I had a problem with mine running and rapped the pressure switch box and it shut off. I think I hit the open electrode faces with a very fine sand paper and it has been running fine since. My pressure switch is right at the pressure tank.

We also thought it was the switch......even bought a new one and didn't fix it....spoke to my brother in law (plumber) explained issue and tested items and he said pump issue was the most likely culprit...purchased and replaced problem solved

We replaced the switch which did not help. I'm guessing that there is a problem with the impeller fins not generating enough pressure to reach cut-off.

We're going to be looking for an island plumber to come out and change our the pump for us. I could probably do it but will take 5x longer and at great personal consternation and embarrassment as I fumble my way along.

Try Rob Bell. Not sure if he has a boat or not, but I know he will do island work time permitting. I am sure he can arrange something.
