Steam Engine 1906 Boston MOS

We were at the Boston Museum of Science (MOS.org) yesterday and I was surprised to see this Steam Engine from Meredith NH. It was not running at the time but it was hooked up to the steam system. Must be a hoot to see it actual run...

great place for steam heads

If you're into steam, check out the New England Steam and Wireless Museum in East Greenwich, RI. They are best visited at an annual event called the Yankee Steam-Up, a couple of weeks after Labor Day. That happens this year on 5 October. Steam engines of all sizes and shapes, restored and running. Also some tables for hobbyists running home-made models up to a running Stanley Steamer. Also displays of historic wireless equipment including an operating spark-gap transmitter.

There are several Stanley Steamers at the Seal Cove Auto Museum on Mt Desert Island as well as a 1st class display of antique cars.
