Is Moultonborough Neck to Ambrose Cove safe?

I'm using the description loosely, but after hearing of today's tragedies I want to be careful going out tomorrow.

We'd like to head from Center Harbor to Mt. Shaw, but I know there's one point you need to cross the lake from Moultonborough Neck to the area near Ambrose Cove Marina.

Has anyone measured/attempted recently? Thanks!!

Today we rode from states landing in Moultonborough to the Melvin trail in Melvin Village. We saw trucks and quads etc all along the way. We rode at a brisk pace to get off the lake asap we had no issues YMMV

Yesterday we rode from Balmoral beach to the Smith line trail which is across from Ambrose marina.

My neighbor rode through there while going to the Castle.

There was some open water near the Marina but the "Trial" was ok.

Ambrose crossing is well used

The bubblers at Ambrose Cove Marina means there is always open water near the eastern exit from Winnipesaukee onto the Vappi Trail portion of Corridor 15. Keep the docks and open water well to your left while going east.

Today, the ice from C-15/Powerline trail onto the lake and the crossing is thick. Those ice fishing report over 15" in the general area. Stay away from Children's Island, as there are shallow shoals around it which could have thin ice.
