Vinyl repair of boat seat?

I have a small (1/4") slit or crack on the seat of my 2012 Cobalt. Its small, but all the way through the vinyl. It happens to be the seat where everyone steps to get in and out of the boat from our dock (which may be why its there). I would like to repair it before it gets worse. How the repair looks is important to me. Anyone had luck with a repair kit or having vinyl repaired by someone?

This won't help with the repair, but might be of use going forward to take the stress off the seat - Seat Savers. We used one on our first boat ('98 Cobalt 232) as we had to step on the sunpad to enter the boat, and started to get small tears on a seam or two. (We used superglue to bond it back together. While it did show a bit, it wasn't bad at all.)

I had Leather Medic of Meredith (603) 279-0550 fix a couple tears in my attached (not easily removable) vinyl sections last year. Still looks great this year. I think it was $150 for the work. They came to the boat in the marina and did the repair. One tear was all the way through the vinyl, the other a deep scratch. Mine were not in commonly stepped on areas which may impact the durability of a repair? They can tell you what to expect.

I had more serious damage to the step in seat and one other (both removable) and had them reupholstered by Shoreline Upholstery in Meredith (603) 677-6742 who did an excellent job.

Repair to vinyl seat

We also had a small tear in our Cobalt's seat, and of course it had to be repaired before it got worse. We also used Chris from Leather Medic. He was willing to make the repair right at our dock, and he did a terrific job. We paid him cash, and I think he charged around $100...well worth it. 279-0550.
This happened last year, and it's holding up well.

Leather Medic

I also used Leather Medic for my prior boat. Came right to the boat yard and did a great job at a reasonable price.

I used Ship Shape Marineworks in Gilford. They were great and it came out great.
