Swim Platform
Part of a association on lake
We are debating on putting swim platform inside our swim-line Would anyone know if there are any state rules to follow. Would it have to be insured? Anyone out there have one at your association? |
Swim platform
I believe you need a permit from Marine Patrol.

As for insurance, as a personal property owner, it gets declared on my insurance I believe... so I would think that the Association would have to have coverage to protect the association for liability. |

Bird 33 - using LIforrelaxin as a guide, have your Association president call the Marine Patrol and ask about permitting, and then ask your Association insurance carrier for advice.

swim platform
Great advise
Thank You |
Seems to me that in another thread on the forum, you are supposed to have a reflective on each side of the raft and it must have your name and telephone number on it.
Or did I just wake from a dream? :rolleye2: Dave |
Rafts
For personal home rafts nothing is required I believe. The raft must remain between your boundary lines as they extend in the water, cannot be more than 150’ from high water mark and cannot be a navigation hazard such as placed in a narrow channel. I do not believe it is required to have your name on it but is highly recommended...

Dan is correct. They did away with raft permits several years ago. We have a swim line permit which I file for each year. The raft must stay within the swim lines. If no swim lines I think Dans distances are correct

Even if not a requirement, you should. Any commercially made one does. We never put our name on it, vaguely recall you are supposed to as well. But it was never a problem. Anything that broke lose on that portion of the lake ended up on our beach any way. |

You are right -not a dream. I haven't heard that it has changed but I guess it's possible. You don't need a permit. |
