Unusual Visitor

We had a moose pass thru the carry on Bear this morning. This is a first for me after 60 years! Did anyone else see this? Couldn't get the camera quick enough.

Not sure of the OP's meaning. Having done a lot of back country canoeing, a "carry" is another name for a portage.

Canoe Carry

Historians say that the Native Americans would portage their canoes at the narrow "waist" of Bear Island on trips across the lake. Several years ago, a bear and her cubs were seen enjoying our wonderful island. 🐻

carry

The narrow part of bear is called the carry and used to carry canoes across the island.

It was on the north end yesterday. Here's a picture from a few weeks ago swimming and standing on a dock on Dolly Island.
