Going rate for slip rentals around the lake

I'm trying to get a sense of what slip rental costs are around the lake. Would you mind telling me what your rental rates is and for what length boat? You don't have to mention the marina if you don't want to but it would be helpful to know whether it was the north or south side of the lake. Thanks for your help!

I believe I saw a CL ad for a slip at Mtn View for $5,000.

Out of curiosity are you trying to figure out what to charge for a slip rental or what to pay for one?

We're trying to figure out what to charge for a 2-way tie slip (whip slip) for a maximum length 21' boat on the north side of the lake.

Amenities?

It's not just the slip. Many marinas offer showers, laundry, guest parking, space for a picnic table and grill,, etc. MVYC offers all that and leases are always for one year, so winter storage is included. Some places have recreation, beach, BBall hoop, room for your toys.

I rented a 4 way tie 20' slip on 'North End' for $1850 in '15 & '16. These did not include winter storage.

It really appears to me that there is a relatively higher number of slips available this season than has been the case since '15. I just barely got the rental slips in '15 & '16 by committing in Dec. & Jan.

Now theres many more slips available MUCH later in the year.

If you are not @ Meredith or Center Harbor then I would guess $2k is about right.

Answer to amenities

Descant, the slip had access to parking and a dumpster only. I agree that the more amenities offered, there higher they rental price.

Really? All the chatter I hear is that there is a waiting list at most marinas. I know there is one at MVYC. We've been there since 2001 and have seen it go all the way up to $5500.00 and then all the way down to a low of $2500.00 after the financial melt down of 2008 (same size slip). We love MVYC and feel fortunate to have our boat there.

Hey, sum-r-breeze, how's business over in Watertown? I've had a slow winter over here in Woburn.

Buy now, no waiting

There are at least two slips at MVYC for sale, listed in the classifieds on this site. One for $150K, one for $80K. Buy now, no waiting.

Is that just for summer or 12 months? What else do you get for $4024?

Phantom 03-15-2019 10:32 AM

I too rent at MVYC (due to proximity & convenience) and feel that I am getting TOTALLY ripped off !! Rent has gone up $500/yr over the last 3 years & we are now paying just under $5k for a non-bulkhead slip ! And to add to the pain, we do not use any of the amenities (bathhouse, Trash, beach, play area, etc.)

Problem we face is that there is little alternative other than perhaps Fay's.

HellRaZoR004 03-24-2019 07:45 AM

Demand is driving up prices. $6k for the season at MVYC for a 38x13 slip. People will pay because there’s a huge waiting list.

joey2665 03-24-2019 07:50 AM

Akwa Marina is about the same price

I just saw an ad on CL for a slip at Lees Mills available for $1200 for the season for up to a 24' boat.

It is just for the boating season, wet slip at Ambrose Cove. They have done a nice job fixing the place up. A little pricey, but worth it given that we live in Moultonborough, and also have a place in Suissevale. Great to be able to boat after work or whenever the mood strikes!
