prop repair

Found out the hard way, if you don't stay dead center going under Governor Island bridge, you can hit a rock. I guess I stayed a little to the right.Who repairs props.

H & h

H & H Propeller in MA. Most of the marinas are on their route, so H & H will pick up, refurbish and return. Turnaround is pretty quick this time of year, I would guess. You might want to take pictures and get a pre-approval from your insurance company, even if you think damage is less than the deductible.

Hey rugman, just wondering if you were heading north or south, so other's don't make the same mistake? Also, depending on the prop, (aluminum or stainless), sometimes it cost just as much to repair as it does to buy a new one, so check that out before you do anything, but you ALWAYS want a spare prop anyways... I do the opposite of most, I run a 4 blade aluminum, and keep the stainless for a spare. I lose a little top end, but my boat comes up on plane much easier, and much more fuel efficient with the 4 blade aluminum than my 3 blade stainless, and I hope that when I hit something, I just have to replace my 100.00 aluminum prop...

Accutech

I used Accutech in Dover to do all 4 of my Bravo III props.
Very nice folks.

Can vouch for H&H. They repaired one of my stainless duo props two years ago after hitting a rock in Paugus Bay. Cost was reasonable and turn around quick. These are $600 props new and repair was about a third of that as I recall.

Prop Repair

Absolutely H & H. I left my 19 pitch there in February and did not pick it up until last week. They really got swamped over the winter. The 21 pitch is now on the boat, but will be swapping it out soon with the 19. H & H re-worked the 19 after it chewed up some small rocks in a shallow area at Ellocoya with wicked chop late last season. Hit the low part of the swell and caressment! Looks brandy spankin new!
