1929 Lake Winnipesaukee Home Movies
There's no sound but lots of recognizable locations in this great 38 minute video from YouTube:

Nice shots of the days gone bye. I notice there were no numbers on the boats. Guess the state haden't got around to taxing them yet.

Anyone know where the huge overshot water wheel was?

We had license plates years ago, just like cars only a little smaller. I don't know when the plates started though. |
Boat plate
Thanks TIS.. Believe it or not there was one on eBay for 1917 at a starting bid of $100.

I also noticed that the footage of The Old Man didn't include anything from the Cannon Mt ski area a few hundred feet away...Cuz it wasn't built yet!
All this footage appears to be from the same family.Looks like they were pretty well to do. |

Lake Winnipessaukee (1929)
I think this film (36 Min) is on the forum somewhere but haven't seen it in some time. The Mount Washington in the film is the OLD Side Wheeler Mount, not the current one. Summers coming. :) NB
EDIT: Remember: This film is summer 1929..The Stock Market CRASH was October 29, 1929. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN7ji0NEGnk |
Every one well dressed yet still able to have fun. Not a cell phone or I pad to be seen and real cottages not the standard lakeside McMansion. Could we rewind time - even for just a single summer?
