Ellacoya Barn and Grill...finally
My wife and I finally got to eat at Ellacoya today. The first two times ended in us leaving after tables were seated before us because nobody was paying attention. This time, we called while on the way to get our names in and were sat just fine.
The service was great—our drinks were refilled as soon as we finished them—and the staff members we dealt with were friendly. Cell phone service using AT&T on my 2018 S8 was fine—2-3 bars of LTE (out of 5). Food quality was excellent. The seafood chowder was awesome, and the burger (which most here rave about) was right on. My wife's chicken turkey club wrap thing was also good, and the chocolate cake we sprung for was delish. Pricing is weird. $6.50 for seafood chowder and $12 for the burger are very good prices, but $13 for wings, $13 for flatbreads, etc. seemed high. I think the key will be to hit this place up on quiet days. Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Well worth it, full price is well worth it.
They have very good burgers. Not to mention the ghost. We have not seen her yet, I understand she hangs around the stockroom. |

Met a friend there yesterday for lunch after touring the new waterfront park under construction at Ellacoya park.
We are buying a bench with a plaque dedicated to a good friend from Concord who died from Covid a couple months ago. But to get back to the barn, sat at the bar, food was great as was the service! |
Assuming it's the same burger as regular, $5/8 with fries is a steal.
I also very much love the barn itself—the post and beam construction with huge beams and pegs is pretty awesome. I could walk around just appreciating that on its own. Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Agreed.......the best I've ever had. |
Just a burger

This is not a complaint, more of a clarification. My $8 burger gets bumped up with a slice of onion and bacon (no cheese). Love it! Great taste, great size, burger seems to be hand formed. The "outdoor" tent is now up, let the fun begin. Dave |

Not related to the lakes region but related to price increases. My wife and I went to Gloucester the other day and we decided to go for ice cream. Went to the widow and ordered 2 small soft serves, 1 cone, 1 cup. When she said $15.00 I almost choked! Not even real ice cream.[emoji2962]

Is the service at Ellacoya really better than it has been? Waitress’s to walk by ten times without even turning their head or making eye contact. It’s Leo me away but if it’s been cured I’d love to go back. It’s a great atmosphere.

When I returned for the second year the owner told me he was thinking of going up to 30 cents for the large soft serve. I let him know that no one would pay 30 cents for an ice cream cone! This getting old gives you a different perspective on things. |

The primary topic of discussion during 1st quarter corporate conference calls has been increased cost followed by increasing prices to charge for product. Prepare for a spiral. |

That’s good news. I’ll be trying it again soon based on your experience.

ellacoya
Probably the best kept secret in the lakes region!!!

Love Ellacoya. Never had a bad meal. On occasion the service can be a little slow but that’s just in season when the place is packed.

So lets keep telling everyone how bad its been so the crowds can stay away and I can get my bar seat that I used to be able to get without waiting back again!!! |
We frequent Ellacoya often as we live right down the street, and also get a fair amount of takeout pizza from them. In particular, every other Thursday we get 3-4 large pizzas when my brother in law comes for his bi-weekly visit.
A few weeks ago we ordered our usual 4. When I got home and opened them up they were awful! Not cooked on the bottom, well done on top, sparse toppings and one was covered in large bubbles. I could have done better with an Easy Bake Oven. I called back and was offered replacements or a credit. Instead of going back down, waiting for replacements, and delaying dinner further we went for a credit, ate a few slices and tossed the rest. Next time we were going in we were supposed to ask at the counter for our gift card. Last night was that night, we went in for dinner. I asked on the way in, nobody had a clue about it. Our dinner was great, no complaints there. Finally a manager came up and gave us a $25 gift card, a far cry from the full credit if $87 we were told was to be waiting. Needless to say I was not impressed. On the way out I handed the gift card back to the manager and told her thanks but no thanks. Moral of the story- check your takeout! No more pizzas there for us. |
My wife and I are meeting another couple for dinner there Friday night. I hope they got their act together by then!:)

Our dine in meals have always been good. We often stop for the Tuesday pizza special at lunch., last time about 4 weeks ago. It was very good with ample toppings. So it may depend on who is in the kitchen and how busy they are.
Agree that they should be consistent. Alan |
i have found many pizza restaurants scrimp on toppings. Is called shrinkflation
