Flightcraft moving into EFI Vutek property

Located at the top of Waukewan Rd and NH state route 25 in Meredith, NH; the nearby Flightcraft Boats business is moving into the former EFI-Vutek building.

Aren't these the wake maker boats that create the big wake waves that do damage to waterfront abutters with low shorelines while blasting the lake with big noise, power loudspeakers, located high above the boat?

We gonna wash that soil right out of your land, out of your land, out of your land. (sung to South Pacific song: We gonna wash that ….)

We gonna wash that soil right out of your land, and the state legislature will never-ever even take a notice this problem even exists!

We gonna wash that soil right out of your land, and no one at the state level will ever, ever, ever even give a good goodbye.

"The waters of Lake Winnipesaukee belong to the people of New Hampshire."

Say-hey ….. if you want to go wake surfing, you can do it with a $325, 11'x32"x6" Aqua Marina inflatable stand-up paddle board weighing 20-lbs, and a long paddle ….. riding the natural wind driven waves, and passing boat wakes …… no need to go buy an $80,000-plus wake-maker, big wave boat.

East Coast Flightcraft is a Cobalt dealer that also now owns and operates the Winnipesaukee Pier, Weirs Beach and has been doing all the improvements there. It is nice to see that they keeping investing in the area and are putting down some real roots.

Do you know what Cobalts look like? They are very similar is style to Sea Ray and Formula. They are not the sport wakeboarding type of boat the are mostly high end luxury.

Yes, Cobalt has technology to make huge waves for wake surfing.
Thanks for the info.

This is pathetic. Different strokes for different folks. Live, and let live (and myob) and we'll all get along. Wishful thinking..., I know.

Am not talking about Cobalt Boats ...... Cobalt seems to be very high quality, traditional style inboard-outboards.

Just driving up Rt 25, stopped at the lights, looking at the existing Flightcraft, it has wakeboard boats with wakeboard racks, speakers and ability to churn & burn the water while towing a wakeboarder.

So, that's two items which impose on the lake environs; wave-water erosion on the low laying shoreline, and music noise which really travels across the water.

Like, who cares who we bother ..... just pump up that volume ..... this is our lake ...... yo!

And, if they don't want their shoreline to get washed away, they should line it with 60-lb paper bags of Quikrete cement mix ..... ayuh!;)

Colbalt boats have superior wake surfing technology as stated on their website:

"New generations of families deserve a new generation of boats, only from Cobalt. Forged at the intersection of unsurpassed luxury and superior wake surfing technology, Cobalt Surf is the choice for today’s discerning, fun-seeking family."

For the record, they are outfitting a lot of new pontoon boats with those loud high mounted speakers also.

Really don’t see how ski type boats having anything to do with East Coast Flightcraft moving into EFI. They already have a presence on the lake and these type of boats can be purchased from any boat dealer. It’s just great to see a company investing in the area.

The people over at Flightcraft are some really good folks. Whether getting gas or picking up supplies at their store, they have always been friendly and helpful. I meet Dan last year on the gas dock where I had a little incident. He was a gentleman about the whole thing. I expected a follow up call from him with a bill attached, but I heard nothing from him.

This year I decided to look at a new boat, I went to see what they have to offer. I meet Ryan and he showed me what the highlights of the Cobalt’s were. He spent a lot of time with me in person and on the phone, including four sea trials over the course of 3 days. He’s a great guy! And yes, I ordered a new boat from them. Renee did all the paper working including about three changes after the fact, she was awesome.

I wish them all the luck with their expanding business. I hope they do very well! And yes, they are spending a lot of money improving the area that benefits everyone whether you have a boat or not.

And they are bringing jobs to the area!!

they also at least rent, might own, multiple buildings inbetween the old Annilese doll building and winni Playhouse

A business sells something you would never be interested in and it goes on your ***** list? Go back to your Walmart's and McDonald's where you seem to be in your comfort zone.
There is something for everyone in the Lakes region. If you don't like all the waves on Winni then sell your valuable waterfront plot and move to a quieter lake. You will probably put some extra money in your bank account to shop a little more upscale. :D

fatlazyless 10-03-2018 08:33 AM

.... splash & burn?

It's obvious the wakeboard wake-maker boats are designed to power up both loud noisy music and 'splash & burn' style wakes for wake boarding to the big sound.

What's fun for the boat people is a problem for the shoreline people.

This is a subject for a different thread. As the OP, you brought up a real estate event not wake boats

fatlazyless 10-03-2018 09:01 AM

Yes, and the wake maker, wake board boats are all the inventory boats that are seen, sold, and serviced from the existing Flightcraft, just up Rt-104 from their new location there. So, these type of wake board boats are very directly related to their new business location.

Wake board boats are what the new location is all about and have everything to do with this thread. Without the wake board boats, Flightcraft would not be moving into this new, larger location.

The new location is a wake maker, wake board boat retail store.

You are correct. I am one of those people that does not like wake boarding boats and would never buy one. These boats COME INTO Green's Basin and go around and around for hours. I am curious how many people that own them wake board in front of their own house?

After reading this thread, I am reminded of one thing... Everyone has their own opinion of how to best spend their money. The lake has always been a retreat from the normal day to day life. As with life how that retreating happens changes over time.

For the foreseeable future wake boats, and thus wake Surfing, and wake boarding are hear to stay..Yes it is causing some damage to the shoreline... But is that the worst problem the lake is facing... I don't think so... there are all kinds of issues facing the lake... Geese invasions, motorboats of all types and the polutents they all bring into the lake... Man, and the trash and crap he leaves behind... (ever wonder what happens to that sun screen you put on when you jump into the lake) etc. etc. etc.

Put all the pollutants together and we have the issue we are all so scared of, the declining of the water quality of this lake. Fixing the problem that are most annoying to us isn't going to fix the problem.. The problem is the lake is over used. And I am just as guilty of that, just like everyone else that use the lake.... How do we fix the problem? Well it isn't just about wake boats, or cruisers, or GFBL boats.... its about restricting everyone... and no one wants that... so slowly the lake will go down the road... that so many of us fear... It is what makes some of us consider finding some place new... Some place more remote.... But you know what, eventually modern society will catch up with that place too!!!!

My next-door-neighbors (who built on minimal concrete foundations) have noted that their cottages are leaning towards the lake.

OTOH, while our same-age-cottage remains level on concrete Sonotubes, the rest of our acre lot is slowing creeping into the lake.

"60-lb paper bags of Quikrete cement mix"—it may come to that—and today—I'd welcome it!
:(

Cobalt

As a long time boater on Lake Winni, and the current owner of a Cobalt as well,
I have boated the lake with boats as small as 18' not including our waverunners and as big as 38'.
Any boat can create a large wake, matter fact I've seen some of the Big Aft Cabins make wakes that I decided to avoid on my waverunner, yea I jump them occasionally.
First off Danny and company at Flightcraft are great folks, we bought our 25' Cobalt from Danny. We had the opportunity to go out from Meredith in a Wave making Cobalt, this is one cool boat, if I had the need I'd consider one.
Does it make a BIG wake, yep, is it any bigger than some moron in a Giant Carver or like with their tabs down making hay at 20MPH, I don't think so.
Simply it's a matter of common courtesy, run the wake boat in appropriate waters and do so at hours appropriate for loud tunes.
The lake is a playground, as it's advertised in the tourism guides, for those who own Water Front, you DO NOT own the water front, you own the land up to the water front.
We own in Pickerel Cove on the water, nice thing is the limited big lake access the sucky thing is limited big lake access, most folks who boat the lake do not own property at the lake, as we did until we sold out Sundancer.
There are big wakes in Paugus Bay, it's part of the lake happening, boating, spending money, supporting the local and state economy.
I agree that those who play on these wave makers need to follow the rules and show courtesy, last thing anyone wants is the lawmakers deciding time for more rules, limiting use or worse banning something folks enjoy.
As for East Coast FC, they bought a empty building in Meredith, remodeling it and bringing work to the area, fixing up the Pier, I congrat them on their endeavor, good job Danny and Company!!!!

Completely illogical and nihilistic--you say that the problem is number of people (lake is "overused"), so there's nothing that can be done. But if everyone cut their "footprint" in half in terms of wakes, noise, etc, then the lake could accommodate twice as many people with the same level of impact.

The problem is the lake probably can't even support half of what happens in it every year.... Further more if you cut the footprint in half... that many more people will likely find there way to the lake...

We can debate this until the cows come home... Problem is the lake is over used .... like many other great bodies of water, it has and will continue to degrade.... Once it finally stops being the oasis that everyone wants it to be and starts to get less use, it will over time clean itself out and become pristine once again. How long such a cycle will take is anyone guess....

Don't get me wrong, I love the lake.... I don't love how the towns have grown up, and how the lake front scenery has changed from cottages and camps to year around estates... but I love the lake.... All the change has had an impact.... By the time I am ready to retire, the impact is likely to be that it is no longer the type of area I would like to retire in so I will look elsewhere for my retirement... some place that has hopefully been less impacted by the human factor but still allows me to enjoy life the way I like, on a boat.

I don't think the problem with the lake is that it is "over used", I think the problem (with this lake in particular), is that everyone that uses it thinks that they own it, and wants it all to themselves. Seems like everybody is just looking to complain about what someone else is doing instead of just minding their own business and enjoying the lake doing whatever it is they like to do. If you like peace and quiet, I'm pretty sure that if you invest on Lake Umbagog, you will have plenty of time to retire up there before it turns into what Winnepesaukee is today!! Both bodies of water have their pros and cons... Just curious, what other "bodies of water" are you referring to that have been "degraded"?

All bodies of water that are used for recreation or the sort have degradation, fouled water, mill-foil, fuel spills, trash, the oceans have floating islands of human waste, so I'd say we humans tend to degrade anything we touch.

Lake Umbagog, lolololol guess why not, 30-40 years ago Winnepesaukee wasn't the playground it is today, nice idea but not sure I see Umbagog doing a Lake Winnepesauke in the very near future, if at all.

But, the lakes area in and around Rangley Me., now that is still a young version of the Lakes Region in NH.

Retirement is calling, beautiful area, much like our Lakes Region without the hoopla.
