Technicolor Tom 🦃

Just looked outside our window here in southern NH and saw Tom Turkey looking over his flock. Your guy is much better looking!

I’ve counted 30+ turkeys together on the grounds where I work. They’re usually away from the building but sometimes they block the walkway near the door and you have to shoo them away. One day when I was leaving for the day there 20 in the parking lot near my truck in between other vehicles. Luckily none of them decide to climb up on the roof for a better view but I’ve heard that has happened. And when they cross the access road they go single file and take their time backing up traffic. It’s pretty amazing to think they were almost extinct several years ago. Now you see them everywhere.

Great picture.

They certainly are "plentiful" this year and have quite a crew in our woods. Barely avoided hitting 2 of them on 140 last week.

Handsome Fellow!

Handsome Fellow! Great shot, Airedale1!

In Hollis we have several flocks that circle the neighborhood all day long. They drive our Cairns absolutely crazy!!! This spring we had a super-flock of 65+ turkeys hanging around for over a month. I could be wrong, but it seems like they broke apart during their mating season. Perhaps they just moved on. Any way you slice it, they are great for bug control.

I did not like the couple years when we had some aggressive Tom turkeys. I had to keep the ice chopper out all year to scare them away from the dog’s pen!
