Heeeeelp. Roof leak

I have a bit of a roofing emergency. During the heavy windstorms earlier this year my roof lost a lot of shingles. I have an appointment with a roofer to replace the roof in October. He had no openings before that. As of today's rain, it's clear the roof isn't going to make it to October. I checked the attic and it's leaking in several places and the wallpaper is peeling, so there has been damage to the drywall upstairs and there's an active leak downstairs. I'm a senior citizen (female) living alone. I'm reaching out to the forum for two things: (1) A roofer who could replace my roof very soon. (2) A handyman who could cover the roof with a tarp in the meantime. Please feel free to answer here or send me a private message. Can anyone help, please? Thank you for any and all information.

If it were me, I would go to Walmart for one or two of their heavy GRAY tarps that people use to cover a stored boat and get it going on the roof. Maybe use a long handle roof rake, or a light white cotton line with a light weight attached to get it on the roof without actually going, yourself, on the roof if it is too steep or something.

Thank you, FLL. I know the tarps you're referring to. I don't have the physical ability to get a tarp up on the roof myself. They're actually quite heavy.

Call R2 Property Management in Moultonborough. They should be able to quickly get a tarp installed. 603-253-5070.

I just spoke to the owner, and he did not receive your message. I'll message you.

Tarp has been installed. Thanks for the help everyone! By the way, Wal-Mart had almost no large tarps in stock, which could mean a lot of people found themselves in my situation with the heavy rains. I concluded that for short-term protection, you might not need an expensive 10 mil tarp; 5 mil might well do the job.
