15MM Whale Fittings??

Has anyone redone the fresh water system on their boat before? My Four Winns is plumbed in metric pex that is impossible to find and ridiculously expensive. I ordered a bunch of replacement fittings from West Marine that they showed in stock, but they are all back ordered with no ship date as of now. Anyone know if someone carries this stuff locally? Watts Aqualock (formerly SeaTec) fittings would also work if I can find them in 15mm. I did find some on Amazon, but was hoping to grab them tomorrow while up that way so I can finish replumbing our transom and bow showers. If I have to I'll convert right out of the tank to NPT, but try finding someone who has a 15mm BSP thread to 1/2"NPT fitting has proven difficult...

Without having any more information than that you said your boat is a Four Winns, I suggest you call a Four Winns dealer and plead your case. Good luck (seriously).

Lowes or Home Depot...

IF a 14mm BSP / 12NPT is available, a 15mm to 14mm adapter can be found at Home Depot's pressure-washer aisle. :look:

To answer your question, yes, I've done a few marine freshwater systems. Convert everything to locally available 1/2" PEX. Try to avoid any metal components, use the push-to-connect plastic fittings wherever possible.

While you're at it, add some extra fittings to make draining/winterization easier if you don't already have these.

Also, a run timer on your fresh water pump with an auto-shutoff might dave you future hassles if a connection comes loose and you pump drains the FW tank into the boat, and then runs endlessly.

Thanks for the suggestions both in the thread and via PM. I was able to get the system working for now using some fittings to convert over to NPT, its not pretty but it works for this season. Over the winter I'll probably gut it all and convert to standard pex.
