Help with Deck Building Permit Tuftonboro

Looking for help with zoning issues on a deck being built in Tuftonboro. Project was already started, but we received a letter from The Town of Tuftonboro code enforcement office to stop. Hoping to find someone that is familiar with the rules and regulations in Tuftonboro that we can hire to help us complete the project this spring.

Did you have a building permit? I will guess that you did not.

Why not call the town Building Inspector/Code Officer and ask what he would like you to do?

In many cases, when someone starts without a permit they merely want you to get one. Often, just a hand drawn sketch with the application will be sufficient.

Yes call Jack. He goes by the rules but he’s very helpful.

Yeah. A little more info would help. Can you post details like size, height above grade, attached to house? Are you into your property line setback?
I built a 10 x 50 deck attached to my house 10 feet above grade, brought Jack Parsons in before I started. Got some advice (and shortcuts) from him. Went really smooth.
Generally, if the deck is more than 200 sq ft or more than 30 inches above grade, you need a permit.
Be advised that if you start a project like that and get stopped as you did, the permit cost may double.
The town website has building permit applications you can download.

Just re-read your post. You want to hire someone to finish the deck?

Check out Jalbert contracting in Alton. I don't have direct experience with them but have seen some of their work in the area and it looks good.

Anyone here have experience with them?
