Fences near the water

Looking for info on erecting a fence down to the water. Ive seen many so im sure it was possible.. Anyone know the restrictions ie: height, distance from the water etc.. This is in Gilford.

I would call the town to see if that would fall under the new DES rules. A simple phone call will save you lots of hassle in the long run

Based on my experience building stairs to the dock, you will probably need a des permit as well. This includes fees, lots of paperwork, and a check to see if you are impacting any endangered species.

Incredible amount of work to raise a few bucks for the state.

Can hardly wait to see the new rules.

Chapter 483-B

Just reading the new DES rules.. Cant believe this got through ! $20,000 dollars a day for moving a rock ? Have we gone completely mad or do we have democrats in office.
Im sure a fence wood be harmful to the squirrels or something impeding their travel in a desperate search for a nut :rolleye2::rolleye2:

I hope it is more for saving the environment, lakes and streams so that our grand children and their children can continue to enjoy clean water and the precious land that our homes are on. Just think what it was like when our parents, grandparents and their parents had when they were here. Let us preserve what little that is left for another generation.:)
