Storm warning...what storm

Wow another WMUR storm and tornado warning. Battened down the hatches again. Secured boats took down flags and prepared for a storm. I sent out texts to my neighbors warning them of the approaching storm. What we had was a couple of sprinkles with no wind and the sun is coming out yet still getting warnings.
It has been amazing where we live on Chases Island. For the past two years all the storms have pasted us either North of us or South of us. Must be because the weather Gods are caring for all the campers of Camp Belknap. I know I just jinxed Chases Island for future storms. Sorry neighbors.

I now see on WMUR many areas got really hit with this storm. Hope everyone is safe in the storms past. Very large wind hail. Take shelter.

We're not that far from Chases Island, but had moderate rain. Thunder on both sides, but no visible lightning. All this approached clearly from the SW, on the "My Radar" app.

No wind to speak of, and carried on a cellphone conversation on our open porch through the worst of it. Still, we batten down the hatches every late afternoon--like were in Florida, or something. ;)

At 5:45PM Sun is out....crazy. We have a motor home being serviced in Farmington. We were told there was really bad storm with hail. Oh great!

As a avid sailor myself we always prepare our Florida home as well.

Storm? What storm???

The mountains and big lake usually impact approaching storms. From what I've seen the storms usually approach Gilford from the WSW or SW and split as they hit the Belknaps and colder air around Winni.

Agree... storms have been coming from that direction. Maybe that is what is causing the difference. The Northern part of Winni and Southern part have gotten hit. Remember the tornado that started in Hookset and swept just south of Wolfeboro and went into Ossippee for about 20 miles.

It does seem we miss a lot of storms. We watch them head this way from the west where we usually get our weather but they end up going south of us toward Alton. As you said, Chase, I won't say we are lucky because I don't want to jinx us.

Manchester Got It!

Manchester got hit. Too bad, we could have used the water to fill the lake back up.

I was picking up my daughter from summer camp in Litchfield and saw the clouds rolling in and it just started to sprinkle. By the time it took us to get to Brown Ave there had to be 6" to 8" of water covering the road from the firing range all the way to up to the 293 on ramp.

It stayed pouring like that pretty much until we reached exit 3 on 101.

Never in my life have I seen rain pour down like that for such a duration. Quite a show!

Storm warning

Coming up this afternoon using my new GPS, received a storm warning about tornado and 1/4 inch hail. We encountered severe downpour and flooding on the highway with the darkest clouds ever seen.

Alton Bay

We had a heavy storm around 415-430. visible lightening, thunder, heavy rain.

Watching the radar on line yesterday and there was yellow, red and a little purple colors in the radar. For us, a half mile off the lake and a half mile outside Sandy Point, warnings were accurate.

The owner of this boat on a lift would like to know more. ;)
