What's the odd of a dock being available? I wonder if anchoring out and swimming in is feasible. I hate going anywhere by car if a boat will do.

Sherrie and I are planning on being there!

Wondering out loud about docking space - or is it better to DRIVE a car (from West Alton Marina / or Rattlesnake Island)?

Car/Boat pooling? Sherrie and I can either share your ride or will take folks over in ours. What the heck - save dock space, gas, etc if by boat - or by car :)

There are a fair amount of dock spaces and they do tend to turn over relatively quickly. However, this is Forum Fest and I think many like minded people will want to come by boat.

unfortunately I work weekends. I have to work Saturday so it is tenetative. if I can make it it will be a last minute decision. :rolleye1:

USMC Deployment ... changed our plans
 

We were planning on attending, but those plans have been changed over the past weekend. Our son, a 1st LT USMC, was heading to the Afgan war zone (late Sept), but has had his deployment date pulled forward 35 days to next week. We are heading down to NC tonight..

I hope to make it.. unforseen baby sitting issue but it should be fine. Hope to meet everyone!

Why not bring the kids? I may have to bring an Arglet or two if I come... (I'm not sure yet... weekends have been nuts lately...) It's a kid-friendly area.

I can't go to meet everyone...A guy at work asked to switch with me so I get to go to work. Lucky me.....:(

My family sends our thoughts and prayers for your son and all of you. As many know, we just had a grandson return--safely--from Afghanistan. May the deployment go swiftly and safely. Thanks to him, his fellow Marines, and all of you,too. It is a big sacrifice made by you all.

As for the Fest...I plan to be there via the Internet...will be looking for everyone on the video!

I plan on going. Looking forward to meeting some people!

Bad news for me... I'm out... there was a death in a friends family so I have to head home early Saturday morning. :(

I wish you all the best.. Can't wait for the pictures.. If things change I hope to swing by but not looking good.

We have the 2010 Timberman and company, (My brother in law is in the race on Saturday)

FF was the same weekend last year so like last year we can't make it.

For folks on the Laconia, Gilford side of the lake, be aware of the Sprint Race on Saturday morning. Traffic gets pretty tied up from West Alton to Patrick's Pub with racers and spectators. The bulk of the race is cleared up before noon, but it's still a slow go thru the area around Ellacoya.

I had hoped, yet again. Especially since it was finally before Labor Day which I advocated.

But a family member has just been hospitalized and I won't be able to make it... sorry

I was so hoping to go this year (as I have said for 2 yrs now...) but, it won't work out, I'll be home in RI. Have fun everyone!!

Just wondering...

I am going to be coming over, and I will most likely have the kiddos and wife with me.... We are not going to stay long, as the kiddos want to do some other things.... finally I have some interest in water skiing.....

Sadly I have to work, and won't be coming through the area until after 6PM, so it looks like I won't be able to make it this year. :(

I can commiserate with you. I'm back in NJ and have something going on for Sunday. A 5-hour drive is too much to do in 1 day, and again this year the Forum Fest is on the 1 and only weekend I won't be in NH in August. Maybe we can have a mini-fest reunion for those of us who got voted down for a different weekend. I miss the Pepper greeting and hug!

Not that I will be working. We have Nieces & Nephews here from England and we are having a pool party/cookout at my Sister's, Dallas/Fort Worth.
They will be flying out on Sunday to be back to start school.

Thanks to our WebMaster Don, we'all will be logging on to the home page at winnipesaukee.com to view the live video feed to take part in the forum fest though, so be sure and wave!

Well, and hear again Skip... We feel for you!

If you have never gotten a hug from Pepper, that's what you get by having the name Skip! :laugh:

However, at the same time where ever you should go around the world, after a Hug from her, you miss her immensely. She is and will always be missed by a few, the ones in her embrace will be forever thankful to have been there!

She's A Gem!... No Doubt About!...
One of those very special people that some of us get the chance to meet in our life time!

Looking forward to attending Forum Fest VII along with my wonderful wife Linda.

No reservations necessary. and, there are no strangers at a Forum Fest, just old (maybe "long time" is a better description) friends and new ones too.

BTW: Two time quilt winner Maureen (rrr) will not be able to make it this year. Although I'll miss seeing her and her husband Steve (I saw them briefly earlier this week) that means my odds at possibly winning that beautiful quilt have increased... I wanted to rub her head for luck :laugh:.





Terry, I'll wave at you a few times ;). I assume that will be possible due to the expertise and dedicated hard work with the Internet connections and webcams by LakeGeezer.

It was great meeting some of you at the FF!! Fantastic job by all of the volunteers who made it happen ( I am purposely not naming names because I will miss some)

Old and young, we got to enjoy all of you great folks having fun together there at the Forum Fest on Saturday, video and sound of the out loud laughing was absolutely Awesome!!!!
