Black bear?
 

Looks like, by next summer there will be a new black bear on Mark. Many years ago our Emily, all black Newfoundland was the subject of bear sightings on Welch. Congrats on Holly joining the family.

I hope so too...I was heartbroken that I couldn't take the little yellow female home, but hopefully the personality of this one is better suited for the boy.

You'll get used to it. My berner alarm went off at 5:30am. Then Cassie decided she wanted to stay outside to play and eat dog poop.

That's an excellent description of puppy teeth! We got our German Shepherd "Ruger" when she was two months old, and playing with her was like playing with a box of razor blades! :eek:

If prisons replaced the razor wire at the top of their fences with puppies, nobody in their right mind would try to escape![emoji16]

I guess we lucked out. Getting Cassie at 15 weeks we missed the horrible biting stage. She doesn’t do it at all. Still loves to chew, but not on us.

she's so bad...she'll sneak up on me and start chewing my shoelaces without me knowing it. She's stealthy like a pickpocket on an Italian train! ;-)

One would think this is a picture of a happy , smiling puppy. In reality , it's the split second she opened her mouth to lunge and bite me! :-)

She does look like a furry piranha.

How are the cats with her?

surprisingly well.... this was from her first night in the house. The cats have always had a dog in the house, so they're used to it. Holly just wants to chase them around and play with them.

She certainly is mischievous, and a lover of bootlaces. Took her for a mile walk thinking that might tire her out...nope!

I remember those days. How is she in the snow?

Not that we've had much of it down here, but she seems to love it . Rain doesn't bother her as well... Charlotte would hold a pee for hours if it meant getting wet.

Get her into doggie daycare as soon as you can. We take Cassie to K9 Kaos in Dover, she comes home pooped. You could drop her on the way to work a few days a week.

she's still 3 weeks away from having all her shots, so until then, the only one she can torment is me!

A little hard to see, but she'll bury her head in it or flop down on it...loves it!

It's like someone flipped a switch this weekend...the puppy biting pretty much went away, she forgot all about going after my bootlaces, and she actually slept a good amount during the day. Maybe she's not feeling well![emoji6]

this little girl hasn't been on the island yet...she has no idea what's in store for her and what kind of life she's gonna have!

Holly and Cassie are going to have a blast this summer. I am hoping she is more of a water dog than Coop- he swims but could care less about it.

Her paws are big and webbed if that's any indication!

Swimming? Our kids and dogs always wanted to hit the water regardless of temperature.

her first time out and considering what happened to charlotte, we're keeping her on a leash for now....she's had her paws in it so far, but that's it.

I remember one day last fall I saw you driving by in the toon and did a u turn right out front. We were trying to wave you in but you took off back towards Welch.

Sometimes when they see me coming, they're like homeowners who have run out of candy on trick or treat night...they rush into the house, turn off all the lights, and pray that I don't see or hear them. " Strange....all the boats are here...."
