Lost Diamond
 

I am heartbroken to have lost a diamond out of my engagement ring last night:-( We came by boat to the Alton docks parking in a slip by the stairs and walked through the parking lot to JP China. I called JP China to ask them to look, but they did not find it, I am praying that someone will find it and contact me or the Alton Police Department. We will be married 40 years in September. The diamond can be replaced, but not its sentimental value. Thanks for your help.

I have not found my diamond "yet" despite extensive searching everywhere I had been that day and night.

Having posted my lost diamond on various social media threads, I appreciate all who offered their kind words and support even offering to look for it themselves.

Although I thought the loss was covered under "personal property loss" on my homeowner's policy, I've been informed that this is not the case... agents I spoke with originally are no longer with the company, etc... long story.

Please learn from my bad experience and make sure that your jewelry and other valuables are protected by separate riders on your policy. Don't assume anything and rely on agents to inform you. Get everything in writing.

It is so hard to see a diamond when it falls out of your ring! When they are not in a setting, they are very hard to find.
