Boat charter at night
Hi, we are looking for a boat charter at night from 8-10pm for about 13 people to cruise the lake. We tried the Millie B, but they don't go out after sunset. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

East Coast Flightcraft had an ad (on the radio) for Water Limo service. To bring you to local restaurants and bars. They are located on the Weirs Pier.

I saw an ad for a captain that will take you around on his pontoon boat. I think it held like 15 people. When I am back up to the lake I will see if I can find the ad.

see post #4 by the Webmaster ---- that's the pontoon boat

Winni Belle
Check with the Wolfeboro Inn.

I booked with Premier from the webmaster's post. I will let you know how it is.

Is it a celebration or anniversary? How does he work this? Where is pickup? Parking? Is a licensed captain or someone with a NH Commercial license running the boat? |

When I said "licensed" I meant whatever license may be required. When I said "captain" I meant the person running or operating the boat, steering it, hands at the helm, or the person in charge from a boating point of view. So I figured "licensed captain" was clear enough? LOL :D |
Well...................When I said you didn't need to be a licensed Captain it was because that is a different license than what is required.
The Coast Guard does give exams and their are courses you can take to be a "licensed Captain". You need that for many types of operations on the ocean but it is not a license that you would need on Winnipesaukee. |
It's a birthday party on August 12. We are hoping to see the fireworks in Alton Bay. They charge per person, with a minimum charge, per hour with a two hour minimum. I can't remember the minimum person charge because we are going to be 12 people. He picks up at our dock. I didn't even think to ask if it was licensed or insured. I will next time I speak to him. I tried emailing initially but they didn't respond. When I called, they picked up right away.

Not to over think this but with 12 people and (possibly) :) alcohol involved I would want to make sure everything was covered in full. If something were to go wrong, as the person who arranged the charter, you could be held somewhat responsible or at least named in any lawsuit.
I would ask for an insurance certificate and confirm that the boat's insurance company is aware that the boat is being used for a commercial operation. I would also ask for a copy of the operators Commercial Boating License. That is not the standard NH Boating Certificate that most people have, it is a different license that requires passing a different NH state test. Many people jump into a business without considering all the legal requirements. I have seen numerous ad's in places like Craigslist for car rides to the airport or shopping for a fee. In the event of an incident the insurance company's team of lawyers will be only too happy to claim that the type of use was not covered by the insurance policy. |
Thanks for the legal advice, are you an attorney?

Thanks for assuming that we are all irresponsible alcoholics.

No where in this thread did I see ANY indication or innuendo of that -- Simply put, one bottle of wine on a boat, add a boating mishap and you have "alcohol involved" written all over it in the eyes of the MP. . |
I should have put an emoji like this [emoji23]on my last post.

We went on the Premier Private Charter pontoon tonight for the Alton fireworks. Captain Eddie (licensed) was great. The boat fit 12 of us with a ton of space for double that amount. Highly recommended.
