Boat Cover recommendations?

needing a boat cover for my 17" Princecraft, just a cover for when in the driveway, not for trailering......so many to pick from online, anybody have advice for good? bad? cheap ones to stay away from. I have had the 1-2 yr covers from West Marine......never again, they can tear like paper. Thanks in advance...

If it is a boat you intend on keeping, I would suggest going to one of the local canvas shops....

Village Canvas --- Meredith
Moultonborough Canvas

And I am sure there are many others.... You will get a good fitting long lasting cover this way.

Yes and add Canvas Guys in Gilford to the list.

I bought a Taylor Made cover for my last boat (19' Four Winns) and the quality was superior. This was, however, a trailering cover but was only used for covering in the yard.

I have purchased Carver boat covers through Boat Covers Direct a bunch of times. Pretty good stuff and fairly priced.

If it were me, I would have it made custom to fit your boat exactly at one of the local canvas shops noted above. It will last many years if taken care of. Some of the mass produced "one size fits all" ones I have seen and owned, look good for a year or two then degrade quickly normally because of cheap stitching and materials used.

I too have used Canvas Guys with great success.

Good Lick!

If you decide to go the custom made route, Bev Lapham at Village Canvass is the best. He can suggest the most economical cover for your needs.
