Old film of Winnipesaukee

Question for the group: I found some old home movies from the 20s and 30s at the dump-brought them home because Moultonborough and Wolfeboro were mentioned on the labels on the film cans. I think whoever it was that took the movies originally had a place in Wolfeboro, maybe on Sewall Point, view from the cottage seems to be towards Copple Crown. There's some nice stuff of boating on Winnipesaukee, the old "Mount," etc., but how do I transfer it from 16mm film to dvd or other digital format? I'd be happy to post it on YouTube for you all to share, but I'm looking for the best way of going about it. Don't think copyright would be an issue if it was discarded, but should ry to find out more about that too.

First, Make a CD...

I took an old CD of Winnipesaukee interest to The Granite State News. They made copies, including one for me. :)

Others went to organizations devoted to history of the region, maybe the library, and a local author.

There are lots of services that will digitize old 16mm movies if you Google it. CVS will do it too although they've paused their service during this time:
