new stronger ballards at Plymouth Walmart

This probably won't make you feel any safer but it is somewhat interesting to know that the Plymouth Walmart beefed up their security ballards, last August 2018, when they re-did the exterior of the building from all green to gray and bright blue.

What is a ballard? A ballard is a steel post, about 5' high, placed in front of the entrance of a building designed to keep motor vehicles out and away. The Walmart ballards have a vinyl cover for better appearance. At Christmas they get decorated with red and white swirly Christmas design covers which resemble a candy cane.

Anyway, last June 2018, some young guy in Texas had an argument with his girlfriend, got annoyed, and drove a large pickup through the ballards of the San Angelo Tx Walmart, and did $500,000 worth of damage, driving back and forth, smashing the inside of the store.

So, I noticed that in August 2018 the old ballards at both main entries to the Plymouth Walmart were dug out of the ground, and replaced with stronger, heavier, bigger and deeper, more secure ballards plus there's more of them, too.

There, I told you it wouldn't make you feel any safer, but it is something that the Plymouth NH Walmart takes seriously, so good for that.

I know it's "bollard" but FLL could be given a pass if he uses the pronunciation as
"ball" as in base-ball, basket-ball...etc.
Just giving him the benefit of the doubt...:D
