Walmart Side Restaurant w/Kids

Today's the day! Once a summer, we head to the Walmart side of the lake to grab school supplies and hit up Fun Spot. It has to be a rainy/lousy weather day, so here we go.

What one restaurant would you choose to visit?! 7 and 9-year-old well-behaved kiddos. Go!

Patrick's is a place we usually go when we have all the grandkids. We sit at the outside deck.

Food

Lyons Den (waterview), Ellacoya, Fratellos, TBones (waterview and deck), Patricks. If you want Weirs then Nazbar (on water), Tower Hill, Weathervane (some waterview)

Ellacoya keeps coming up. We went there on our trip two years ago and didn't like the seating process/waitress response so we left (two families got tables before us, as there was a "find your place" system we were unaware of), but maybe we'll try again.

What better place than Friendly’s for kids? Food is actually pretty good!

I should've stipulated no chains. (Side note: I don't hate Friendly's, but their ice cream sundaes, most notably the Reese's Pieces sundae, have dropped precipitously in serving size).

How about the NASWA? It’s quiet during the week, they have full tents to keep you dry in case of rain, and kids would love being on the beach.

Den

If I had to pick one it would be the Lyon's Den...

Never experienced a find your own place system there. Be aware though that on Burger night and Pizza night they are extremely busy.

We went there last year and weren't impressed--the kids, especially, thought it was "too poofy."

Trying these places once every few years certainly leaves little room for error or imperfection...

Kids, Grandkids

Keeping it local on a rainy day. That leaves out Friendly. Rainy days at the Naz is not too bad when they can hop in the water between spells. Town Docks a bit far out but it can get a little humid and hot inside the building if raining.

T-Bones/Cactus Jack is very kids friendly but not much activities to keep them occupied. Food including the kid's menu are great. Kids don't see anything they like? The staff does a tremendous job fitting their taste if its not a menu item such as PB&J sandwich!

Griddle in the Middle was a success for breakfast, unfortunately it is close.

Funspot can get expensive so try Jumpin'Joy on Rte 107 in Laconia!

I didn't know about Jumpin' Joy, thanks for that. Throughout the year, we but Groupon offers to prepare for summer--we got $40 Fun Spot cards for $20, which will last us plenty of time ($1 for Tetris, $39 for ticket games, so the kids can get crappy Chinese finger traps that'll be broken by the time we're back at camp!)

Great food, no frills, counter service.

Went to Faro Express--thanks for the recommendation, it was absolutely perfect. I updated another thread with my thoughts, but if anyone sees this it was GREAT. Awesome pizza, panini sandwiches, kids mac 'n cheese, fries. Only wish they had a fountain soda/ice machine and that it was closer to us on the north side!

For the simple reason that you typed "Go!" after your request.....

Burger King (?)
McDonalds
Taco Bell
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Pizza Hut

All can be found on your ride from Weirs Beach to Tilton.... Good Luck!

And because a 7 and 9 year old have to be "well behaved" to eat at any of the establishments that you decided to list??? Really!

Forgot another gem for kids.

Art Escape on Union Ave in Laconia.
Kids can try all kinds of arts and crafts. Favorite is the pottery wheel!
