Positioned to show the North Conway village, stop light intersection of White Mountain Hgwy and Kearsarge Road ..... this North Conway Cam is live, well lighted and moving, 24/7. What you see here is White Mt Hgwy, N Conway, N.H. Route 16, and U.S. Route 302, with all three different road name designations coexisting on the same one local road, and it can get very heavy traffic as it is the major north-south and east-west route at the same time in the area. So, that makes it a "three-fer", three different named roads all going north and south-Rt 16, and east and west-Rt-302 and White Mt Hgwy, all on the one roadway ..... yee-haw! :eek:

The ski trails on nearby Cranmore Mountain, about 1.5-miles away, down Kearsarge Road, can be seen in the distance to the left.

If you take a good concentrated look and close your eyes, you can still see that historic Skimobile http://www.newenglandskihistory.com/...e/cranmore.php lift as it moves up the mountain with one skier aboard each four wheel, Skimobile cart ..... moving up the big hill ..... slow and steady .... yee-haw! :eek:

Holy snow flakes ...... this Cranmore history link has a ton of history in it ..... and it says that this years, 2020 price for an all-lifts lift ticket will be ninety nine dollars ...... holy snow flakes ..... 99-dollars will buy a whole lot of tuna fish, rice, mayonnaise, and pineapple chunks ..... as opposed to a 6:45-hour long day, 9am - 3:45pm, up and down those Cranmore slopes. Is it worth it when hiking, snowshoeing, or xc sking the multi-use trails in the nearby WMNF are basically $30/year for a vehicle parking stijker!

www.cannonmt.com says that NH seniors, age 65+ get to ski FREE Mon-Fri but you have to reserve online, and then show an id when you pick up your pass at the mountain.

And, in case you were wondering, the North Conway 5-cent and 10-cent Store which is shown in the web cam with its distinctive red and yellow store front sign has a website, www.northconway5and10.com , which is all about its long time history as North Conway's oldest continually operating retail store since May, 1939 and much earlier ..... "It's Not Just A Store... It's An Experience".

No lift ticket, no fee, WINTER WALKING in North Conway, not so far north, up Rt 16, from the NH lakes region:

Here's a 15:30 video from January 18, 2020, with only 250-views so far, on a ten-degree cold and sunny Saturday, and a solitary hiker walks up the Bryce Trail from Echo Lake State Park area below to the top of Cathedral Ledge and back ..... up the trail ..... and through the woods.

Hiking Bryce Trail up to the top of Cathedral Ledge State Park in North Conway ..... about two hours hike, 1.61-miles going up the Bryce Trail, to the cliff look-out area and then down the Cathedral Ledge access road, about 1/2-mile? down the asphalt paved Cathedral Ledge access road which has a locked gate in the winter that closes it to cars ..... with no mosquitoes, no black flies, and no noisy snowmobiles.

Walking traction aids like Yaktrax with a comfortable ice/hard snow grip, underfoot, plus one or two ski poles for walking are a good help.

Cathedral Ledge is located on the west side of North Conway and has a 400' high vertical granite cliff which is the place to go for technical rock climbing in the summer and fall. It has a big view looking out onto the Mount Washington valley across to Cranmore Mt and up north to Mt Washington.

If you look for it, you can see the ski trails on Cranmore Mountain, across the flat North Conway river valley, about five miles away, similar to what you see in the North Conway Cam looking down Kearsarge Road except you are standing very close to the top of a 400' high vertical cliff. There is what looks like a 42" high, steel chain link, visitor safety fence, set high atop the edge of the big, high Cathedral Cliff within this state park area. In the summer it is normal to be able to watch climbers as they slowly inch their way up the 400' vertical, gray granite climb using a moving safety rope that gets somehow attached to the cliff as they very carefully climb upward.
