VHF Radio Parts?
I have an older model (2002) RayMarine VHF radio, which needs a new cable for the handset. Is there anyone in the Lakes Region who would be able to order the part for me?

Id not bother going that route.
New units can be found for short money, can be interfaced with GPS and offer DSC with a MMSI number assigned to you via Boat US. 65 Can land you a perfectly fine brand new West Marine unit, 100 for a Uniden and 150 for an ICOM. Perhaps less. |
I agree!
For about $100 (which is probably less than the part you need) you can get a new radio. The only problem may be that you may need to make a filler if the new radio is smaller than the one you are replacing. I went this route on an older boat. I'll do it again on my current boat if the VHF fails. |
Thanks
Appreciate the responses.... just don't want a bunch of holes in the helm.... will see what the part costs and go from there. Thanks all

On my older boat where the new radio was smaller than the original, I was able to make a small adapter face plate out of some 'star-board'.
It ended up looking very professional. Good luck with your project. |
