Its "Winnie" the lake monster with a turtle head mask!

Hillcountry 08-26-2019 03:27 PM

It’s Champy! Must have hitched a ride on a trailered boat from Champlain.
It looks like some kind of escaped “dragon/lizard” like an iguana.

ishoot308 08-26-2019 03:40 PM

Fll

That's FLL going for his daily swim! If you look close you can see the noodle around his waist! :D:D:D

JEEPONLY 08-26-2019 04:15 PM

Loons put out an eagle lure for diversion

rick35 08-26-2019 04:54 PM

I’m pretty sure it’s a mink. I’ve seen several mink the past few weeks and none for years. I got up close to one the other day in my kayak. He turned and looked at me like he was going to jump into the kayak with me. I was thinking that if he jumped in I was jumping out. They look cute but I think they’re mean little critters.

Cal Coon 08-26-2019 05:22 PM

Just what we need..., another hoax!!!

jbolty 08-26-2019 06:15 PM

Looks like a sea monster.

Or like a turtle facing right or some sort of bird with it's head down facing left.

MAXUM 08-26-2019 06:18 PM

Looks like a t-rex

Cal Coon 08-26-2019 07:21 PM

Looking closely at it, could it be a Canadian geese with it's head in the water???

garysanfran 08-26-2019 08:38 PM

Saw one today....

Near Pig Is., coming in to Smith Cove from the north...Across from the NH Marine Patrol Bldg. It looked hungry!

I think that’s it. A little like the “ is it a crow or a cat?” viral photo on the Internet.

fatlazyless 08-27-2019 07:22 AM

Sorry, is not me.

My guess ..... looking at the line on the right rear which appears to be the primary wing feathers ..... this is a mallard duck .... slightly out of focus ... probably a female ..... with its' head down under the water. What you see on the left side is the duck's neck.

magicrobotmonkey 08-27-2019 10:56 AM

we saw it heading in to Fay's sunday afternoon. Looks like a toy trex, we circled back to snag it and it disappeared under water! then when we motored away it popped back up. There was a lwsa runabout in the area and a handful of people on a dock on that little island. Someone playing a joke...?

Rich 08-27-2019 11:49 AM

I saw it too, and posted videos on IBOLW.

It could have been an RC toy, but it wasn't a static floating toy in the water.

Its head was as large as mine, it wasn't a small thing.

it would go under, then come back up in a different spot. It would turn it's head left and right.

It didn't look like any Otter or turtle that I've ever seen.

This is a good shot of it. I couldn't get anything very clear as I was trying to keep the boat under control.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least as he is the sneaky type.

Is that the same shoreline where someone has big mirrors in their boathouse?

dt5150 08-28-2019 10:11 AM

beats me.. but those docks are right next to the MP docks.

Hillcountry 08-28-2019 11:24 AM

Ahh okay. The mirrors are further down toward Ellacoya.

I think you mean the Lincoln Cottage, just outside and south of Glendale:

I know the owner of this home and have had the luxury of seeing the inside and it is spectacular! The owner spent a lot of time and money remodeling it completely true to the period! It is truly amazing!

The big mirrors in the boat house have not been there this summer.

When I was pre-teens, I used to row past that place, drooling for the day I was old enough (and able) to buy it. What a view it has. This was back in the 50's and it just seemed abandoned.

Glad the place has a new life.

Site has photos of the inside and a link to the webcam looking toward our camp on Welch.

Back to the Glendale lake monster, we go in and out of there most every day and have yet to spot the creature. Maybe only certain people properly medicated can see it.

Rich 09-04-2019 06:38 AM

My cell phone wasn't medicated, feel free to stop by and take a look at it any time.

As it seems people are interested, I recalled seeing that you can stay and rent it. Found the link below: https://www.vrbo.com/474595?noDates=true

Haha that's all I can see when I look at this now. Perhaps a daring snorkler with flair for the comedic? :)
