Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be postponing our opening to Saturday May 8th.
Thank you for understanding. Pop’s |
Thought you opened on Mother’s Day weekend every year ?

I drove by Pop's on Saturday and the sign said "Open May 1st". Great!
Oh well, another week until the opening. Hopefully, it will be warm enough for a boat ride. It is worth the wait! |

Very busy opening day!
Thank you! We had a much busier opening than anticipated. We will run out of whole clams tomorrow. I would suggest coming earlier rather than later. Scallops and lobster will not be far behind.
Thanks Pop’s |

I hope you have a great season. Y'all are the perfect mom-and-pop: great workers, great food, and fair pricing. Godspeed! Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |
Went by today at about 3:30. Long line but disappointing to learn they were already out of clams and lobsta. Nice to see them doing so well so early in the season.

Excellent Meal
My first 2021 visit to Pop's occurred yesterday. I was there about 4:15 pm and there was an order line out to the Road. Most of the customers wore masks, but surprisingly none of the staff were wearing masks (some will ask so I am just putting it out there). Pop's truck was parked out front so I assume he himself was also working.
I had their famous Fried Clams, along with a Lobster Roll, and everything was absolutely EXCELLENT as usual..... 5 Stars! I was going to sit upstairs at the picnic tables but most were taken so I sat downstairs instead. Cool, clean, and comfortable downstairs. I plan to make a return visit within a week or two..... . |
I asked the saem question last year on masks. Here is the direct response from Pop's that was posted last year on the forum....
We are not mandated by the the state of NH to wear masks. The health department advised me it was more dangerous to have my employees wearing masks in the heat and was up to my discretion. My employees safety is very important to me. We have put up barriers at the order/pick up window to encourage social distance. Our restrooms are closed to the public. We also have very strong captive air ventilation combined with many screened windows. We actually have negative air pressure in our building. There is no way you would be infected by a order taker/server. Particularly if you are observing the barriers and keeping back six feet. Corona viruses are not transmitted through food. I personally monitor our employees health daily. These are the reasons we are not wearing masks. |
You're no longer required to wear a mask in NH... time to be free again if you chose.

Made my first visit to Pop’s this season. Fried clams and shrimp. Awesome as always. No lines, spoke to worker, today is better than yesterday but the weather put a big dent into there business this weekend.
