Bring back the carhop...

Heading north on Rt.3, just past the lights in Meredith... On the left, before you get to Cumberland Farms, there's an old abandoned eyesore gas station that I think would be a great location, at the right time, to open a carhop. The old-fashioned kind with girls in hot pants on roller skates bringing the food on trays to your car.

I like this idea! Last time I was at a car hop was in the 1960’s in Salem at an A&W Root Beer! 2 Papa Burgers with fries please!:D (and a large root beer!)

2020 style

Maybe the Dive will add Kar Hops in Kayaks for cod water days?

I think that is owned by the town of Meredith.

Someone posted the idea of a Sonic drive in at the site of the old matterhorn motel in moultonboro. You can find the post, I think it was last April, maybe the first of the month...

I think having a Sonic is a great idea. I also think we need to bring back drive in movies.

I remember the A&W car hop in Manchester on the West side of the Amoskeag bridge! I was just a kid but that was a great place! I still think their root beer is the best!

Hop to It 🍺

Memories. My first paid job back home again in Indiana was as a car hop at an A&W Root Beer stand. I was fourteen and earned fifty cents per hour plus tips. 🐻

Even someone delivering your food to your car on roller skates couldn't over come the horrid food at Sonic. Please no Sonic!

Agreed. Almost as bad as Applebee's and TGI Friday's. Most chains are criminally mediocre.

Well it doesn't have to be Sonic. It could be fashioned after Sonic but with good food.

I went to my first sonic 2 years ago in SC. Maybe I get good ones but I like it. I would welcome drive in service.

We've been to Sonic for a hotdog or something. Obviously just a quick lunch place not fine dining. Just fun to go.

I think its the building, it has the potential to look vintage, maybe that's why but its not the first time the thought has crossed my mind. It would be pretty neat to see something vintage (like a carhop) go there.

We have a Drive in Movies in Milford. It's open/operating now.
