Lots-O-Fish!

Here's a nice sight to see on your Lowrance when fishing!

This school of salmon was about 1/3rd of a mile long by 200 yards wide from top to bottom! They appear to thin out at the surface only because it's closer to the transducer and the sonar cone is much narrower...

Hope everyone enjoyed the great weather and calm conditions on the lake!!

Yup, I had to take a couple second looks as well but I kept being able to go in and out of the school and had a few risers around the boat. The fish were migrating in a northerly direction. At first I thought they were white perch and I only say they were salmon because after quite a few passes through the school I was able to hook into one and land it and it was a nice 21 1/2" salmon, fat and in great shape but I guess the rest weren't very hungry. I suppose it could of been a lone salmon in a school of some other type of fish but I doubt it...

It was fun to see!

LOL! Believe it or not, that was the first thing I checked. Thought the ducer may have come unplugged or loose somehow which will automatically put it in demo mode, but nope this was a true reading right on the money including water depth...

That's a fantastic shot. If your dimensions are roughly correct that's the largest school of fish I've ever seen on sonar.

If you have DI/Down Imaging try that too. Many units these days have it. I got it free a few years back as part of a routine software upgrade.

Thanks Diver! It's the largest school I have ever encountered also and why I posted the screen shot to share the anomaly.
