Northern "Sandbars"

I've been here long enough to know that people don't love giving out their "fave spots," but with a new jetski in the works, I'm interested if anyone has places to suggest to the north of the Graveyard that maybe we haven't visited.

I'm in Hanson Cove and would be looking to take my 7 and/or 9-year-old somewhere to swim that maybe they can touch (non-yucky) bottom.

Feel free to message me, if you'd rather not post publicly.

Thanks!

You'll notice there's nothing there, save for a mention of 19-Mile Bay which, at least the times we visited, required getting through some gross weedy areas on the edge of the swim area.

Thanks to those who have messaged me directly.

Cheers!

I know of one totally incredibly unbelievable, so smooth sandy bottom, so shallow 3-6' depth, so unused by any motorboats what-so-ever …… and such a publicly owned, heavily forested shoreline ……. not at an island ….. that it has got to be the winning-est, most best, winning winning winning location on the entire lake ….. such a winning spot ….. that it's too good to divulge, here ….. too bad! ….. :D

Aw, fll, message him with the location. On another note, how is 20-Mile Bay?

Camp Menotomy-2500' undeveloped shoreline

Ok, from the Cattle Landing town dock and parking lot, the 2500' or so(?) heavily wooded and treed shoreline is just a 10-30 minute kayak paddle away. The first thing you see is a floating sign buoy, 'Loon Nesting Area - Keep Out!', so you want to paddle out and around that area of the Camp Menotomy shoreline, up the shore, and eventually to the waterfront dock, sandy beach area.

Technically, Camp Menotomy is a Girl Scout camp except the last full 8-week camper season was back in about the year 2000, and now it is usually unoccupied by anyone, except for the wildlife deer, bear, bobcat, fox, loon, eagle, Canada goose, and black capped chickadees who have moved into this 95-acre, 2500' shoreline, heavily wooded and swampy Lake Winnipesaukee property ..... all hungry for something good to eat.

So, considering the shoreline is good for kayaks, and has no propeller motorboats visitors what with the rocks, it should probably be good for jet-skis moving slowly along the intricate, unoccupied and interesting shoreline, too.

Who knows but maybe someday, the Town of Meredith will decide to purchase it and conserve it because it is definitely worth conserving.
