Glad we don't pull the boat out in September!

My wife and I debated on whether to drive up and cruise the lake. When we went down to the boat in Alton Bay it was pretty breezy , so we thought it was going to be choppy. Well we were glad we did. Once we pulled away from the slip we knew we made the right choice. It was one of the best cruise days all season. The lake was calm enough to set he throttle on 20 and cruise without being banged all around. The foliage was awesome. I think my wife took about 100 pictures. We even stopped by to say Hi to Mitt but he must have been resting up for the next debate. We made it back about 45 mins before the rain and stopped at Johnsons for lunch. That , my friends , was a perfect boat day! :D

Oh you are lucky that you got it in when you did. It got nasty late this afternoon. Coming out to the island from smith cove we were tossed around pretty good and were soaked to the bone from spray. It was probably my roughest ride of the season.

Columbus Day boat comes out

I have learned over the years that there are
many beautiful days and wknds far into
September and October. I like to take the boat
out on Columbus Day. If I don't the wknds
go by fast and before you know it temps
are in the 40's. Don't get caught in bad
weather, it can get nasty fast.

We set out for Senter Cove (or is it Secret Cove?) from Long Island around 12:30 knowing that the storms were headed our way around 3pm. It was a little choppy at first but then we too hit 20 without any problem. The sky was a bit grey but the foliage was still vibrant enough to enjoy. Very happy we made it out today.
