What type of motorcycle do you drive to Bike Week, or just around the area?

Just curious to know what type of bikes people are driving. I have a cruiser, 1998 Honda Shadow VT750 ACE.

Have not driven it in years on the road, but it still runs and sits proudly in one of our garage bays, tucked in tight, next to my old rag top.

It's a British 1970 BSA 441 Victor Special Yellow / Black and Chrome

Single Cylinder / 9.5 to one compression ratio / Lucas Ignition / 10312 miles

I am the original owner .. cost me about 700 bucks back in March of 1970

My better half rides a 2003 Vulcan 800 Classic and I happily ride with him. He's ready to move up to a larger bike so we have been searching Craig's list to see what's out there.

Back in the day ..... after graduation from college, I drove my 1970 441-V from Providence to PEI, Canada and then across the county to the west coast. Our plan was to drive it home, but my friends 1966 Truimph Bonneville toasted a piston and I elected to take that opportunity to ship the bike home via truck and fly TWA from California to Boston .. vibration free.

I do remember becoming an expert in points replacement and just that right touch of kick start pressure and compression release ... else it would snap back and put you airborne. Matter of fact it kicked back so hard one day, that the kick starter (sans pedal rubber) tore through my steel shanked / web sided army green jungle boots from Vietman, almost breaking my ankle.

It sounds just as good today, as it did 40 years ago.. that one lunger has such a distintive tone and low end power.

1995 HD FXDS Dyna Conv with wide glide forward controls. Also touring seat, passenger floorboards and padded sissy bar to keep the wife comfortable. Bike still runs and looks great after 30K miles.

Dug this out of the ancient history files.

It is on the Cabot Trail about a week into my cross country trip.. I have many a fond memory of doing the drive around the lake every summer... before job / marriage / children / overseas assignments........... adulthood ... put an end to it.

The other bike is a 1966 Triumph Bonneville

I voted "street".

I ride an '01 Kawasaki Ninja ZX9R sport bike that I got new in '02. My odometer just turned over 83,000 miles on my way to work aboard it this morning. It's been very reliable, comfortable and fun. I love riding it and average 10,000 miles per season.

If you've never ridden a sport bike, you should try one. I was convinced they were uncomfortable and only good for short trips based solely on sitting aboard them in the dealership. I thought I had the best comfort available in my touring bike. It was a test spin on a friend's Ducati that changed my mind. A few months later and I owned my 9R. I can comfortably ride it longer distances than I ever did on my touring bike. 400-500 mile, all back-road days are easy. I'm 44 years old. My next bike will also be a sport bike.

I've got a 2006 Honda Metropolitan motor scooter that "cruises" at about 28+ mph. I got it up to 35mph once on a downhill (Stark St in Laconia) - stopping at the bottom with mechanical drum brakes front and rear was interesting. But the less-than-$5 registration fee (moped) plus not having to get an annual inspection (yes, i do inspect it regularly anyway) must have some value...

FLTRX with 103" Screaming Eagle Stage IV kit will be in the garage very very soon! Waiting on some parts to be delivered.

I already sold my sportster, time for a bagger.
